This all has to be fake news.

    Nobody signs below market deals.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Does Yelich speak English? Need to make sure he wasn't taken advantage of.

I thought the same thing. LOL

Acuna doesn't speak English, so he's clearly not smart enough to understand that he's signing a team-friendly deal. lmao. People are dumb to even bring it up.

    Sort of.

I mean I cited last 3 years to show his consistency. While Yelich goes further on his highs. Again, if Yelich does it again this year, then it's done.

I somehow missed that argument, was that really a common point of discussion?

It might be a fair point to wonder if teams can take advantage of someone from an exceptionally poor background (regardless of nation of origin) because they may be might be far more willing to take an immediate cushion than gamble on larger future earnings, but I'm not even certain I believe that with them assumably having an agent explaining the numbers to them (and I have no idea how secure Ozzie or Acuna's families were financially, that was not my point). But language is a truly terrible argument.

I think fWAR years of 7.6 and 7.8 back to back after just having entered his prime is pretty consistent. So it was a 2 year average instead of your self given 3 year average. In the past 2 years, Yelich has been a clearly better player. You've been back tracking on this one and its okay to admit you were wrong.

Not sure how the Bonilla contract ended up from the Mets perspective but Yelich is getting 28 million deferred and that present day 28 million (or over the life of his contract) is worth more now than it would be by 2042. These types of deals usually favor the teams because they can invest that money and make some of it back before dealing it out to Yelich.

The best line from the forbes article about it was

In fact, at $215 million, the deal is just $8 million less than the $223 million Mark Attanasio paid for the entire franchise when he purchased it from the Selig Family back in 2005.

so just a deferment, not really anything like Bonilla.
