Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Baseball doesn't have technical fouls or unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, so the ump is limited. Sure it was a blown strike call, but we've seen blown strike calls all season long and people aren't kicking dirt on the plate. Donaldson acted like the ump f*cked his wife or something.

So if things would have gone south for the Braves this year after Freeman got the virus, Soroka went down, and Fried, Ozzie, and Acuna all went down for a period of time the Braves should still have to pick in the high 20s?
Not sure how many people truly expected them to be great. Pitching health is always iffy (particularly coming off of a deep playoff run), and they've got two really good hitters and a whole bunch of question marks.

My point was that they have identical records after 53 games. Now, and when they won the world series a year ago.
Nothing sweeter than the Nats sweeping the Phillies, so the Phillies don’t make the playoffs and the Nats get a higher draft pick.

Clevinger pulled after 1 inning.
I know Keuchel has been very solid this season. And I was firmly behind the midseason acquisition last year (even if less-than-thrilled by the playoff rotation that followed). And I know that the Braves rotation has been mostly omnishambles this season.
But, watching this Keuchel start against Cleveland, I'm nonetheless quite happy Anthopoulos didn't commit to him long-term. The final line will look solid, but it definitely felt like he walked a tight-ass rope to get there, with some hard-contact that just stayed in the park, or found a fielder's glove.
"For all his tattooings he was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal."
