This Tattoo Shop Is Covering Up Racist Tattoos For Free

Ryun King of Gallery X Art Collective in Kentucky said he feels this is what he was “meant to do.”

“As we’re tattooing, we get to see the change in the person,” King said. “Coverups are hard, you’re limited in what you can do ― but ever since this happened I almost feel like it’s what I was meant to do. It has given me a sense of purpose.”

Seeing the racist tattoo imagery can be jarring, to say the least, but King said he has “no conflict” tattooing anyone who comes into the shop with the intention of growing and leaving a previously held notion behind. He also noted that in many instances a tattoo may not even actually reflect a strongly held belief in the first place.

“When we first look at the tattoo it’s like, ‘What would ever possess you to do something like this.’ But as you talk to the client you hear their stories ― ‘I was bullied by an ex,’ or ‘I was 16,’ or ‘I had no idea.’”

Athletes are finally waking up to their enormous political and social power.

Kansas State football team announces protest of program - no practice or play until changes are made. It's a start.

I don't know what's the more embarrassing scenario

Trump watched the video where white power is shouted within the first few seconds, knowingly tweeted it then deleted it.

Or Trump just retweeted a video without watching it at all then deleted it once people called him out for it.

Either way, we didn't need him to confirm what we already knew. That he's either a racist, a moron, or a racist moron.

Apparently Disney is redesigning Splash Mountain to strip out all Song of the South material and replace it with Princess and the Frog.

What's odd is that the Song of the South stuff there was all the animated bits of the movie. The animated versions of slave folklore based on folktales from Africa. Brer Rabbit is a very important cultural figure. Something that shouldn't be forgotten but is apparently being tossed out with the indiscriminate destruction wokeness is causing.

Wrong as usual, counselor. Song of the South (1946) was boycotted by the NAACP way, way back then. They protested with signs that said "I fought for Uncle Sam, not Uncle Tom!" , claiming that the movie perpetuated a harmonious master/slave relationship that was far from reality. Do kids today have any clue who Brer Rabbit is? Does it matter? Brer Rabbit will still live on in books.

Interesting history of the creation of Splash Mountain (no political or social content):

As usual you consider me wrong because you completely miss what I said.

I didn't say Song of the South was important. I said Brer Rabbit was important. The issue with Song of the South comes from the live action sequences. The white washing of slavery with Uncle Remus being this well treated former slave who loves his former master and his former master's kids. That's what people have a problem with.

The animated bits, on the other hand, are animated versions of folk tales told by slaves and compiled by Joel Chandler Harris. Brer Rabbit exists completely separately of Song of the South and even Harris' book.

You can actually go to Africa today and find folktales that bear striking resemblances to the Brer Rabbit stories. The Tar Baby story, for instance, comes straight from an Anasi tale in west Africa.

In fact, the Brer Rabbit tales had a purpose when shared by slaves. Brer Rabbit was a small but clever animal who far less power than characters like Brer Fox. However, through outsmarting the bigger, more powerful animals, Brer Rabbit gained the upper hand in his dealings with them. This helped feed hope and resistance among slaves. It taught the idea that someone with less power could still get the better of the ones with power.

Personally, I think Disney should compile the animated Brer Rabbit stories, rework them so they don't have any live action elements, and re-release them. They're culturally important stories and the woke crowd is currently throwing them out because of their association with the problematic live action scenes.

Considering that we can no longer count on police to do their jobs, this is what you get.

Your gun grabbing is going to be a lot more difficult as the entire country has loaded up.
