Black Lives Matter...

Yep, thats the same kind of response you would get where I am from. Literally have been told "dont go to that walmart thats where the blacks work". Some people say white people dont have the perspective to talk about racism but who do you think is in the room to hear what people say when black people are not there. Its kind of weird you can be talking to another person and they just assume your racist with them and go off on some racist rant. Very awkward. For example I lived in a city called Pasadena, very Hispanic area, I was giving a new employee a ride home and we are making small talk. He says he and his GF moved here because its where she was from. I asked if his GF was hispanic to which he replies "hell no I only date Aryan Princesses"....... so awkward.

Should probably have been protesting misinformation instead of police violence (thread)

I said from the start it was stupid to focus on police killings of black people. Its the every day encounters and mass incarceration for "morality" crimes that have no victim. I do wish this same logic was applied to cops. The odds that are shot and killed by a black person are lower than the odds of a black person being shot and killed by cop. Yet we still allow cops to use the "I was scared of the black person" excuse.

Lastly I think it's incredibly dishonest to use ONLY shot and killed by a gun statistic. It's like if your in a discussion about home runs but only want to count the ones hit to straight away center.

The data are clear

1) Police don't gun down blacks at a higher rate than they gun down whites

2) Police treat blacks differentially (as in worse) by just about every other measure

So the um how shall i put it gaze averting folks (i don't want to use a word that will trigger their victimhood) keep bringing up 1 as a way of dismissing 2

Yeah man. All those dude references have proven crippling for the black neighborhoods.

It’s not the low opportunity and lack of policing.

Can’t believe that people take this seriously.

Do you agree that the narrative of the media, Democrat politicians, and BLM either ignores your first point or completely misrepresens it?

Man. Continuing to not understand how to analyze data

Entry level mistake made above.

Go home thethe the adults are talking.

Let’s see if nsacpi is willing to go against a narrative with facts and explain why your a posted analysis is worthless because you won’t accept being explained why you’re wrong from me.

i wouldn't tar with too broad a brush, but there are lots of people who believe 1 and argue it...what can i say...the best way to undermine a good cause is to use bad arguments

So you agree that BLM tars police officers with too broad a brush?
;)

Now cross reference it with police interactions, arrests, or crime rates.

that's right...these things have to be controlled for...casual empiricism won't give you the right answers for these kinds of questions

i would say you are making BLM do a lot of work there

dare i say tarring with too broad a brush...but i guess all is fair in love and war

some people use bad data and bad analysis on this issue
