I'm reminded that the money I'm sure you dutifully donate to planned Parenthood goes to an organization that was founded with the purpose to eradicate black people

And to this day, black people are their best customer!

    The seals clap, of course

Man, I give ya respect for never deterring from whatever point you want to make

Doesn’t matter if it has anything to do with the topic at hand or what the other person has said

    Fire off that rant

Then act like that exact rant isn’t verbatim the talking point on right wing twitter

Then on top of that you have the audacity to call others seals lol

This is the black lives matter thread.

On topic, I am celebrating that future black lives won't be slaughtered as much

    Seems perfectly in topic

The former Minneapolis Police officer who held down George Floyd's legs during his fatal restraint pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter Wednesday as part of a plea deal, attorneys said.

Thomas Lane, 39, was one of three former officers to face charges of aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter and aiding and abetting second-degree unintentional murder related to Floyd's death in May 2020.

In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss the murder charge, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison's office said. State and defense attorneys jointly recommended to the court a sentence of 36 months, according to his office.

36 months is way too short but these convictions do feel like a turning point because they were based on emotion rather than the facts of the case. Imo they were guilty of torturing Floyd because he made their day a little harder by refusing to get in their car and that may have contributed to his death. These deaths used to get written off as a thing called excited delirium which has no basis in science but has been successfully used hundreds of times to "exonerate" officers in cases like this.

Particuarly.important is the conviction of those who aided Chauvin. This is the message we need sent to cops. If you think a cop is doing something wrong it is your obligation as a Law enforcement officer to intervene. Just following orders isnt a valid excuse to commit atrocities. Cops will say verdicts like this will make them more cautious before doing some things, that's good. If something is a morally or ethically gray area they should be encouraged to approach with caution rather than just doing whatever they want because gray areas mean they cant be held accountable. Which is what part rulings told police. That unless something is clearly wrong and against the law as ruled by a court previously then they cant be held accountable. That's bullscrap.

One last open secret. When cops like Chaucin get out of prison they get decent jobs from ex-law enforcement that own businesses. They stick together unless you rat on other cops.

Tough situation for Lane. I believe he was on the fourth day on the job. He asked Chauvin several times to let them turn Floyd over. The message is if a fellow cop is killing someone you have a legal and moral obligation to do more than ask nicely and deferentially that he stop.

That's odd, I hear nothing but praise for single moms. I hear lots of criticism of absent fathers though. Perhaps Mr./Mrs. Sunny Dae Jones needs to expand their information sources.
