We certainly don’t want the Braves to miss out on that.

Oh wait, that was the 437th time you were wrong.
You had him as a 4 and I had him as a 3 due to his xwOBA. None of us were right either because he's not even serviceable as a 5.

There is nothing wrong with having high hopes for players. I was absolutely positive Gohora was gonna be a stud....sadly. Two other favorite are Wilson and Weigel (both who may end up in the bull pen). I’ve like Ynoa every since I watched him in Rome.

Would like to say Snit left Newcomb in too long, but honestly not sure what he’s supposed to do at that point. The obvious move at this point is just to yank him out the rotation.

Meanwhile, with Nola on the mound commanding three pitches (especially that great change-up), I’m glad he yanked Acuña, Freeman, and Swanson pretty quickly.

Nothing like putting up a few runs at the end of a game that was basically eight innings of garbage time.

OK. This is hilarious... and saves our run differential a huge hit!

I keep rooting for Riley but that hole he has in his bat might be unfixable.

One exciting thing about this season is the Braves should have a decent shot at the playoffs, given the expanded field and their baseline of talent; so I feel like it's a good year to take some chances and give young players extended trouts. Riley in a sink-or-swim situation at 3B, given his defense looks good, so the bat is the whole question. Wright and Toussaint in the rotation. And some combination of Anderson/Davidson/Wilson/Weigel filling those final two spots—with the hope that Hamels is actually able to return sometime in September and contribute in the playoffs.

That has already passed. I think we only needed to hold a prospect down through the first week to gain the extra year of control. Tuesday could be the projected super 2 cutoff date which saves us from 4 years of arbitration.

Leaving it. Because, yes: I think young players should receive longer lake-fish than usual in these unusual times.

You know, if you had told me this morning that the Braves would score eight runs in a game started by Aaron Nola, my reaction probably would have been, "Yeah, but Newcomb gives up 13, right?"
