The team’s debt, stemming from developments at the Battery, jumped from $698 million to $718 million in the same time span"

That was 6 days ago. We have no money.
Every team in baseball has a similar 2nd Quarter revenue stream because no one played any games. Let's not pretend that's an excuse.

I have no idea if the Battery debt increase is relevant to team payroll or not. It could be. On the other hand, maybe it's not. I sort of doubt the Battery is worth less than its debt, but I'm not a real estate mogul. Maybe it is.

If you can continue to throw people out there who tax the bullpen, you can't honestly tell me Davidson or Weigel can't get a shot. Caution to wind? I felt AA wouldn't make a deal so I'm not bothered but it's at least laughable that it even has be spun. Let it go.

DOB: Anthopoulos said Folty's weight is up and he threw plenty of 94-mph fastballs last time out at Gwinnett, up from his 88-89 before he got DFA'd. Also said Bryse Wilson and Kyle Wright both throwing ball better down there, made adjustments.

This is probably the best braves bullpen since O’Ventbrel, best lineup in recent memory. And worst rotation off all time.

    AA truly failed this deadline

What the hell were the Rangers doing keeping Lynn?

Dodgers probably called just to keep the phone busy so nobody else could get in.

Rangers literally screwed this up the same way with Minor last year. Congrats, best case scenario you are trading him in the offseason with only one season of control after a pandemic. Next best scenario is he's really good for your horrible team and you get trade him for pennies next deadline. A very possible situation is your mid 30s dad bod pitcher is much less effective next year.

I really hope money was the issue bc anything else sucks ass. We could of beaten the Clevinger deal. I know people don’t like trading prospects but you have to let some go at some point to give the big team a chance. Look at the Tigers and how they held onto guys to long and they burned up their value. Another year of all of our guys basically wasted just to get put out in the first or second round.

I agree making a move just to make a move isnt smart and can hurt down the line. But AA cant think this rotation is ok lol. Erlin, Tomlin and Milone are the 3-4-5 starters lol.

The Battery isn't worth anything if nobody is there.

at least one person saying the Braves should have made another rotation move this offseason was passionately in favor of acquiring Bumgarner. I guess avoiding that kind of dumb move doesn't get you points.

I'm very disappointed the Braves did absolutely nothing and would have loved it if they had done a lot that would have carried into 2021, and I really would rather them not be broke next season too, and I also don't see the point in their having gone all in on 2020 when there is no way they could have made themselves a favorite...

I'm pretty conflicted by it all.

They could make it up to me by at least letting me see random guys I haven't seen before like Weigel or Davidson or freaking De La Cruz, I don't care. Give me something to watch other than Robbie offing Erlin.

Still cant believe Padres got Clevinger for that package. They kept most of their top prospects.

Rangers are poorly ran. The only reason they were good for a few years was because of the Tex trade. Braves gifted them a couple of WS appearances.

I hope Acuna isn’t becoming that race car that is incredible but always breaks down. He shouldn’t have this many different injuries at his age. He’s barely played. What did he do, run the bases once last night?

He could be traded for a team’s entire roster and farm lol. Absolutely not saying I want to trade him(so don’t go there), but it’s frustrating to have that valuable of a player who can’t stay on the field.

The Battery is real estate. Real estate always has value.

The ballpark will open again and there will be fans. So it has value above and beyond its short term revenue.

Unless Biden wins and the suburbs are destroyed. But we'll be too busy hiding from the Marxist-Leninist death squads if that happens to worry about baseball.

I'd be ok beating the Clevinger deal. The Padres moved middle of the road guys in their system (good system to be fair) and ok MLB players.

That's what you do. Ideally you are not moving the top guys in your system. For me that is Pache, Waters, the Catchers and maybe Shewmake. The rest of the guys you deal from.

I would have thought someone would want the long term potential (7th inning guy?) and control of Ynoa over some of the other guys traded today.

This is extremely annoying, I agree.

But...If Folty is throwing mid-90s, he's a Major league pitcher.

Again, Waters (By himself) has more value than all those guys combined, and I’m not even that big on Waters. I bet Cleveland fans are sick. Most likely all end up bench players unless they get very lucky.

The way AA talked up everyone but Touki sure seems like the team has gave up on him.
I still think he will end up being the best out of the Wright/Wilson/Touki trio but guess his trade value is non existent
