Eh - Plenty of places in NY north of the city that you can live that is beautiful and still have access to the robust job market.

Cali is the same way but the leadership is just a cluster****.

Nothing better than living in NY and being able to provide a nice life for your family.

Literally everything you could possibly want is right here.

Again - If NY continues to trend where its trending it could be a magnet OVERNIGHT for the rest of the country and if that ever happens the population increase would be YUGE!

Interesting fact to back up what I'm saying. Cal has the highest poverty rate in the nation. It also has a high per capita GDP.
If Silicon Valley and a few other companies leave Cal is going to turn into Detroit.

the current trend of deploying the national guard to the subway system and giving illegals tens of thousands of dollars worth of debit cards?

the current trend is that no state is losing more people

Cool, so if a store gets robbed but no ones arrested no crime was committed to count. Nice to know.

homicides get counted regardless of prosecutions...and yeah red states lead blue state in the homicide rate with the gap rising

i'm still waiting for y'all to explain why trends on basic metrics like homicide rates, life expectancy and GDP per capita keep widening in favor of blue states

Who do you think are killing people in red states? What potential political leanings do those people have? Who is controlling the areas with the highest homocide rates?

    I've explained many of these.

    1) Homicide rates- red states have the higher rate because of minorities and illegal immigration

    2) Blue states have better life expectancy because you have less rural areas. High population areas have the best hospitals. Rural people have worse healthcare opportunities. We've discussed this before.
    https://www.pewresearch.org/short-re...ommunity-type/

    3) Blue states like Cal have high GDP per capita and also highest poverty in the country. All of the old, big money is in the hands of a few people where the average man is struggling.
    https://calmatters.org/commentary/20...-poverty-rate/

If the blue states are so great why are people migrating here to the red ones?

It used to be that GOP mayors in big cities was more common. Competition is a good thang. But the GOP also has got to go back to nominating people with a serious conception of governing.

Right now they keep losing more of the few major mayoral offices they hold. The most recent one was Jacksonville because they ran a maga-aligned candidate. I guess someone(s) around here will blame the Dems for the GOP nominating a maga-aligned candidate that the people of Jacksonville in their wisdom rejected.

Eh these gaps are all WIDENING in recent years. In some cases bigly.

People migrate for various reasons. One of them does reflect badly on blue states, which is they have ridiculous permitting regulations that have caused a housing shortage and high prices and rents.

Yes, blue areas are making it impossible to live and it goes beyond just the housing

The gap will widen. The rural areas still aren't getting the hospital care they need where the cities keep getting better hospitals and more high tech.

Before modern medical tech there wasn't much difference between rural and urban life expectancies. Look at stats in the 40s and 50s.

Anecdotal story. My parents live in a rural area but luckily have a top 100 hospital 15 miles a day. My father went to the doctor feeling awful one day. He was given an EKG and the doctor said we have to get you to emergency care. He soon had a quadruple bypass. If he lived in a rural area where the nearest good hospital was an hour away what would have happened? Your average rural hospital couldn't have done the surgery.

Poor candidate quality has been a “thang” with R for a while, unfortunately.

Believe it or not many people in blue states live in rural areas. They ain't dying off as fast as they used to.

Poor policy leads to poor candidates.
I think after the 2012 election (R) came to that conclusion.
    But then, well, but then
