So Camargo replacement if Camargo looks like ass in ST? My understanding is we can cut Camargo in ST and not owe him anything?

1 game at 1B, 25 games in CF in career. Don't know how many innings were played in positions other than 2B. No games shown in LF/RF or SS/3B. Seems like a limited "bench piece" defensively and could be a LHH pinch hitter only. Still no "real" backup at SS.

Camargo will be due ~ $357,275 if he's released.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...

Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?

Check the stats compared with Johan Camargo.
Jonathan Villar play 52 games and Camargo playing less had almost better stats. Villar had a lot of stole base and a negative war. Probably a worst defender too.
Jonathon Villar plays for the Mets.

If signing Kipnis is just a plan C option this is fine, but if he is all AA is going to do to improve the bench, then 🤮

If a guy can play CF and 2B I’m going to guess he can handle 3B.

I just hope this isn’t the main bench player we’ve been waiting for.

Well obviously AA doesn't want kipnis playing at 2b much, so wonder where we'll be playing him in ST to see if he's useful

A minor league deal for Kipnis rather than $2-$3 million for Cabrera is awful.

Apparently AA is only interested in signing bench options who are willing to take minor league deals - money must be tight.

This is I've been fearing since we've seen so many good options go to other teams. I think money is very tight and AA shot his wad on Smiley.

Yep. Those are all low-risk pick-ups I've really liked, and I think there's a decent chance the Braves receive as solid a performance in 2021 from one of those guys as they would from Shane Greene (without even factoring in the price of Greene).

I suspect he can play a passable third. We'll find out in spring training. But the bat doesn't recommend itself.

Just curious as to why everyone is clamoring for a back-up SS? Who can you sign that would be better defensively than Albies? Who could we sign as a back-up SS that isn't a weak bat off the bench when compared to folks that play 2b/3b?

If we lose both of our middle infielders, simultaneously, for a significant stretch we're pretty much cooked anyway, right?

I think we want a good defensive SS at AAA. I'd rather have guys who can swing the bat on the major league bench.

Pretty much. I would guess they might try Shewmake before a AAA journeyman, but it is hard to say.

Think of Kipnis as a LHH Culberson who we don’t confuse with Swanson from 200’ away.
