Man I really wanted to get Kike Hernandez... I’ve always liked him.

Ugh. If Ian is going to give up homers to two washed-up players, he needs to be sent down for a bit. The ignorance is clear.

Dansby scratched because of calf tightness

And follows those 2 HRs with yet a 3rd to Gonzalez with runner on. Now 4-0 in 3rd

Ian might have been a Cinderella story last year. Guys are going to start seeing the change and just wait the fastball out. He doesn’t have much of a curve either.

The good news is, if we ended up needing a SS replacement for Bae at any point this season, there are several decent SS options that will be a FA at the end of this year and who play on teams not likely to be contending. Trevor Story, Javy Baez, Brandon Crawford, Miguel Rojas, and Freddy Galvis. Plus a few others that could end up on this list if their teams underwhelm. Guys like Lindor, Iglesias, and Semien.

That's easier said than done. His change and fastball look very similar. His curve is good when he commands it.

Still, fans shouldn't expect 2020 to be his norm. He should be a solid pitcher, but it's unlikely he's an ace.

Anderson is a rising fastball guy who is going to give up some HRs. That 4.5% HR/FB rate he posted in 2020 was always going to regress in a big way.

As long as he doesn't compound the issue with lots of additional baserunners he will be just fine.

Fun inning from Vodnik. Multiple 98s and 99s. Got a K on a good changeup that was 89-90 that inning, then two weak ground outs as well.

Pretty solid inning for Tarnok, too. Mostly threw fastballs, everything was 95-98 and a lot of strikes.

Radio said 1st 2 hrs were on change ups. Don't really care for the Red Sox teeing off on his best pitch

I didn’t see the context, but the point stands.

Actually, after looking up his GB rate, my point may not stand. He posted an above average GB rate in 2020, so maybe he will keep the ball out of the air.

Maybe they were poorly located CHs. Maybe they were thrown 3x in a row. Maybe HRs just happen sometimes. Either way, Anderson should be a perfectly fine MOR pitcher.

That's exactly it. He missed his spots quite a few times today. It happens.

Yeah, I'm not freaking out over it. I'll save my freak out for the 4th inning of some random game in April haha

You need spring to get ready. You will pull a finger muscle because you didn’t properly prepare now.
