I think this was expected so I'm not too upset but it sure would make AA not making a move for a big bat that much more frustrating.

Heyman: Mets are engaged with Trevor Bauer. They expect to hear something — one way or another — in the next 24 hours or so. Situation is fluid but there’s hope.

Mlb.com writer saying it’s Mets or Dodgers for Bauer, so we are kinda screwed either way.

Adding Bauer to the Mets or Dodgers while AA doesn't grab a big bat is about to be lit

Here's the thing. If Bauer goes to the Mets it hurts the Braves. But then I think the Dodgers throw their money at Turner. Then it's Braves or Tampa for Ozuna.

If Bauer were to sign with the Dodgers, I bet they would move on from Turner. That would probably send him to Atlanta and thus ending our chances with Ozuna.

Or Bauer ends up in New York, Turner with LA, Ozuna in Tampa, and the Braves sign one of us posters as their big bat. Whichever of us takes less money plays left field. We all collectively cry.

What other suiters does he really have? This has been such a strange off season, where the Mets really lucked into being one of the only teams willing to spend big money.

Dodgers can easily afford Bauer and Turner. They'd be way over the lux tax threshold though.

Have a Hard time seeing Braves going 3 years on Turner.

If Ozuna is truly holding out for $100M then he may end up not getting a contract at all. Nobody is paying that for a DH, no matter how many teams need a DH.

I think. If he gets 4 it would be at 75 at the highest. But I don’t see 4. Maybe 3 with a team option

Ozuna. Turner won’t get more than 2. No way.

Turner, to me, is a safer bet to produce with the bat. he’s been very consistent. and he plays 3B, a tougher position to fill.

I’m curious in the lack of games played over his career. I posted it last night, but he’s missed so many games each year.

Rumored Mets offer to Bauer is 3 years/93 mil, opt out after year 1. Smart to hit FA next year with more money available.

Dodgers have been stingy all off-season. It doesn't look like they're too interested in spending a lot of money this right now.

I don’t really get it. Bauer is a very good pitcher... but nowhere near worth the figures that have been rumored.
