SP market is starting to move fast as most players wanna get it done before Christmas. Im gonna guess the Dodgers are out on Cease. Theyll get Yamamoto im guessing.

Glasnow 5 years, $135 million

Wow, I wasn't far off, was I?

If they cared about money, they would rue the day they offered that contract. But they don't, so they won't.

Guy pitched 120 innings last year and that was by far his biggest workload of his eight year career. In-****ing-credible.

The logic is baffling….

The pitching needs upgrading and the hitting failed for 4 games. These are not mutually exclusive facts that in no way disprove each other.

Yeah I don’t get it either…the bats obviously failed in the playoffs but for one of the top teams in baseball to make no effort to upgrade what’s one of their weakest links makes little to no sense to me

Like I said I’ve already convinced myself AA isn’t gonna do a thing with the rotation and we will hear once again a cookie cutter GM-speak press conference

We lost strider vs pen game twice. We lost bc we couldn't hit

And has been stated multiple times, in a pivotal game 3, Bryce Elder was on the mound. I’d rather not rely on hoping 85 year old Morton is healthy (and effective, which is bound to end sooner rather than later).

Got that feeling the Braves are gonna roll with what they have now barring a trade. Don't see any FA signings sadly.

I'd say AA is done if not for the fact that we have 6 empty 40 man roster spots. AA generally likes to make his moves early in the offseason so normally I'd say he's done but it doesn't make sense to just be sitting here with 6 open 40 man slots. Why did we outright Fletcher if the plan is still for him to be the utility IF? Why do we need the 40 man roster flexibility?

I don't put that much stock into what Jim Bowden writes at The Athletic, but he did have a column about likely trade candidates that featured discussion about Burnes, Cease, Arozarena, etc. White Sox have publicly stated they are waiting on Yamamoto deal to finalize before moving Cease. Orioles are in on Cease and, like the Dodgers, their minor league depth runs rings around the Braves'. Even with Pepiot and DeLuca going to the Rays, Dodgers still have two catchers--Rushing and Cartaya--in the MLB top 100 along with INF Busch and RHPs Frasso and Stone. Add to that Andy Pages who has been in the Top 100 at one time and the Dodgers are still stacked.

Orioles have a ton of hitting prospects (Kjerstad, Cowser, Ortiz, Mayo, Westburg) that they could ship to the White Sox. To get Cease, my guess is the Braves would have to part with Smith-Shawver or Waldrep and someone else. I don't know if the White Sox would want someone like Ignacio Alvarez, but he's the only hitter in the system right now who isn't three-or-four years away that might generate some interest. Grissom would be the other option, but I think he stays in Atlanta if the OF experiment bears fruit in Puerto Rico.

If they sign Yamamoto, it's just unfair.

The Dodgers are looking at the following playoff rotations for the foreseeable future:

This year: Glasnow, Yamamoto, Buehler

Following years: Ohtani, Glasnow, Yamamoto. That's 3 guys with top 10 SP stuff.

They will be in the running for Sasaki, too, I would guess.

And they have a gaggle of guys that can be good pitchers in the regular season.

It's a Dodger blue world.

That following years rotation sure has a lot of question marks for me. Will ohtani be the same after 2nd TJ? Will glasnow ever have a healthy season? Will Yamamoto be able to get mlb guys out?

Carpenter is owed $5.5 million this year.

I have no idea what the point of this is, other than AA trying to acquire as many great mustaches as possible.
