Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Glad to see the Dodgers blowing their load while we are set up for big off seasons for the next couple years. They were the team I was most concerned with bidding up the price for Fried next year. I have a hard time seeing them do that now that they added 130 million dollars a year on 3 players.

Money is not a restraint on the Dodgers.

Maybe I'm in the minority then that never really thinks about trading Ozuna.

Seems like an appropriately priced asset heading into a contract year with probably very little trade value. Coming off his best year.

Nothing really out there to replace him, wouldn't save much money if you did, and not likely to get much of return. Who trades difference making mlb litching for a DH?

Nothing you said here contradicts what I said. It was my roundabout way of arguing for him. There’s literally no easy way to upgrade him. Most of the other options are way worse

300 million on a prospect. Imagine a kid graduating from the minors getting that deal. Madness.

I don't know that Yamamoto signing will jumpstart the rest of the market too quickly unless some team gets desperate and unloads all their prospects for Cease. Snell is going to want $300 million and that could continue to stall things. Montgomery going to want north of $200M now.

Yamamoto could make or break the Dodgers. If he cant get MLB hitters out like he did in Japan then they are in trouble. Freeman fixing to be 35 next year and no way him and Mookie repeat the seasons they just had. Im not worried about the Dodgers. Im guessing this will pick up all the trade talk and move things along on Snell and Montgomery.

Snell is in the same boat as Bellinger. Nobody is gonna pay them what they want. They have had alot of bad seasons and only 2 good ones. They arent gonna fool any teams into breaking the bank.

LA just spent over a billion dollars on two players.
Think about that for a minute…this has gotten out of hand.

Why is it out of hand though? Do you know how much these owners are worth and how much money these teams make? Frankly I think it’s good when owners actually spend big. Force the rest of the league to try and keep up.
