Jecki Lon Memorial Star Wars Thread

Ahsoka has been off to a great start so far. What I appreciate as well is like Andor it feels like it should be a TV show. Each episode has a clear arc, it doesn't feel like a movie that was quick cut into a TV show.

Will be interesting to see the continued direction of the show. My assumption is they fail to stop the imperials from going to hyperspace and Sabine uses the force and her connection to Ezra to have the Purgills take them to Ezra and Thrawn, but we have at least 1 more episode before the baddies escape.

I'm excited we meet Jacen Sendula, I'm nervous that this could confirm his potential death as a member of Luke's Jedi Academy.

Gonna be an interesting sprint to the finish line for Ahsoka. Obviously thrawn has to escape because as it's the finale of the current mandoverse. I guess they all could be trapped out there, but that doesn't seem likely as there's no reason for them all to get there.

I believe the rumors are ANdor season 2 will lead up to the events in Rogue 1 so I assume K2SO would be involved as long as they can get Alan Tudyk involved.

I finally watched Ahsoka. I really enjoyed it. David Tennent was brilliant. Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka is growing on me as well. Love that they're bringing the Night Sisters into live action.

It's a huge shame that Ray Stevenson died. Baylon was one of the more interesting characters introduced in recent years.

But let's be serious, this series is about Thrawn. I think it's clear they're setting up for a Mandoverse movie where Thrawn is the villain. And Lars Mickelson nails it.

A small thing that hit perfectly was the utter terror that Thrawn struck in the New Republic. Genevieve O'Reilly has been amazing as Mon Mothma and the fear she emoted when asking Hera how real was the threat of Thrawn's return was fantastic.

Dave Filoni gets Star Wars and I'm so glad he's now pretty much in charge of Star Wars content.

It wasn't just that Luke always wanted to help his friends. Luke always rushed in to personally help his friends, even when it wasn't smart. If he felt he broke something, he would be out there trying to actively fix it even if it was just making things worse.

Honestly, I don't disagree. But it was JJ and Kasden's **** writing Johnson had to justify.

Boy the bad batch finale was great. Star Wars is amazing when it's weird mysticism, but also also when it does gritty character driven arcs.

Anyone going to watch Ep 1 in theaters this weekend?

No, even if I could, I wouldn't. Nothing against it, it's just the second worst Star Wars film. Even with the nostalgia I share with it as a kid I can't deny it's basically a pointless film in the grand scheme of things. The only meaningful thing that happens on screen is Qui Gon's death. The siege of Naboo and the importance that had on Palpatine's election was basically glossed over (rightly so mind you)

But considering the lead protagonist of the filma nd the lead antagonist of the film both die at the end, it doesn't really do that much for the plot of the prequels. I said before and I stand by it. The prequels are better if it starts on Episode 2, the new Ep 2 is focused on the Clone Wars and ends with the attempted coup of the Senate. Then Episode 3, is about the jedi purge. Could have seen Prime Vader fighting Jedi in the temple, not just executing younglings and heads of guilds and organizations.

Episode 1 was largely pointless but I have to admit that the Duel of the Fates is one of the best things in any Star Wars movie. I will sit through a lot of crap for that kind of payoff.

One thing the sequel trilogy lacked was experiences like that.

I disagree that Duel of the Fates was that great. It's score is amazing. It's one of the best scores in Star Wars for sure and probably the best that's not like a general theme (Main Theme, Imperial March, the Force theme, etc.) but the scene itself kind of is terribly paced and written and for all the **** the "experts" give the fight Choreography of the throne scene in TLJ, like there's just so many things that don't make sense. I'm ignoring the things that were silly like maul doing the cartwheel flip or whatever you want to call that for literally no reason.

It also flies in the face of reason that Qui Gon Jinn would have been as agressive as he was considering all the teachings of the jedi we were told. Even with the Sith threat, it flies in the face of jedi teachings to not just protect and defend but to agressively attack to the point that you leave your padawan alone.
