And your student is so desperate for a bailout that he needs the janitors help

It must be so embarrassing to be a non stem professor. Literally provided useless skills that could have been learned with a ten hour online YouTube video.

Joe has overseen the highest inflation (and blamed big chip for giving us less instead) period of my lifetime.

Housing is unaffordable to the newer generation and people are racking up CC debt as they try to make ends meet….

and BL says it’s all going swimmingly because the govt says so !

What an idiot

The level of disconnect with everyday Americans is staggering. But of course he doesn’t care about Americans. Just third world trash that comes here illegally.

The housing market is a wild one to throw on Joe when the solutions to allow for younger people to be able to break back into it would all require some sort of government intervention associated with the left.

Inflation killed home ownership. Thanks Joe

I do find it amusing that massive government overreach during the Biden regime caused the unaffordability but people like Mqt think more government intervention solves this.

Or just mortgage rates to come back down.

The top 10% pay 75% of federal taxes.

And what percentage of college graduates are in the top 10%?

Your assumption that top 10% equates to college educated is amusing since my guess is small business owners account for majority of top 10 and a good portion of those are “non colleges educated”.

You pretend as if all college educated people are productive members of society. In reality it’s a small handful and majority of college educated people are net takers as well - especially with these asinine proposals to pay off their worthless education.

I never claimed that all high wage earners are college graduates.

My claim has been that if you look at money going into the system and money coming out, college grads as a group contribute more than they put in. In effect subsidies to education are self funding.

And those who are not college grads are net recipients of fiscal transfers. As a group they live off the generosity and kindness of our society. Many of them do not like to have that pointed out because it doesn't jive with the self-image they have constructed for themselves.

However, there are obvioulsy some people without college degrees who have very high incomes and some college grads who are riding the wagon while whining with the other whiners.

Please show your math considering majority of college educated kids are so worthless they need someone to pay back their loans.

I don't know what you mean by show your math. At the school I teach at we actually keep track of how many recent grads have jobs, are in graduate school, are unemployed, are in the peace corps, etc.

The number that are unemployed in recent graduating classes is about 1%.

In terms of the national data the top 10% of income earners in this country consist of about 70% people who have college degrees or higher and 30% who dont.

When you look at the top 1% the number with college degrees or higher rises to 80%.

At the other end, the bottom 10% of income earners consist of about 6% people with college degrees or higher and 94% without.

I’m glad they’ve got part time jobs making 30k a year

It’s lovely that not only the worthless college grads get all the same benefits as non college ed they are asking for additional bailouts.

The true whiners.

Remember - it’s Americans that are the stupid ones.

All these people have great jobs!

Then why are college loans so prevalent and need to be forgiven

The reason for students loans (and subsidies to education generally) as a public policy measure is because the returns are so high. They more than pay back in terms of effects on tax revenues from having a more productive workforce.

Forgiveness of students loans is a different policy issue. Generally I'm not in favor of it.

Awesome that 5-10% end up working out well. Doesn’t look good from a public policy perspective. I guess if they stopped loaning so much the costs would go down and we’d get all the benefits without the downside of the whiny little bitches asking us to pay for their useless degrees.
