I'm ok with making more checks and balances. I'm not ok with the POTUS having more authority over the other divisions of government. That's 100% how you get to a dictator.

I just want a transfer of power from the administrative states autonomy to the presidents. That’s the way the constitution was written. This is not a balance of power situation to me. This is a give the president back its powers given in the constitution.

Like I said, Trump just needs to run out the clock at this point. Which should not be hard considering all he has to do is campaign. The September sentencing could potentially have an affect. But I think if a large percentage of independents were likely to let his legal issues affect their vote, we'd already be seeing that reflected in the polling.

All the “cases” have been baked into the results for over a year. That’s why I mocked the idea that sturg and the annoying RDS influencer losers would push results to questions posed in polls about how people would vote “if convicted”.

You clearly can't understand the gargantuan task of funding a program like this on a national level, staffing a program like this on a national level, and having a proper system in place for the ease of access to these sort of charitable benefits. Charities not only CAN'T provide this, but they shouldn't be called upon to do this.

In 2000, there ~$11B spent on SNAP, with ~18M people participating
In 2022, there was $122B (inflation adjusted!) spent on SNAP, with over 40M participants

US population has increased ~20% since then, while spending has increased 1,000%; and participants increased over 200%

You can similar results to nearly every federal program that ever existed
