2024 Field

First NH polling since Biden dropping out shows Trump with a +1 lead. I think it's safe to say the bad polling numbers for Biden were not simply because people thought Biden was too old.

So you know the data showing the Kamala locked up thousands of people for weed violations under her tenure as California AG? You know, the data that Tulsi threw in her face during the 2020 elections?

That data has now been magically scrubbed from public record, with data only going back to 2011.

Edit: Not when she was California AG. Just San Francisco DA.

No one cares. A prosecutor being hard on prosecuting isn't that big of a deal. 1900 convictions in 7 years back in the DARE era isn't insane.

Like seriously who cares what she did 20 years ago if it wasn't illegal?

Like many people in america in the last 20 years we've seen that criminalization of weed is stupid. You act like it's settled facts for decades. Like when she was DA recreational weed was illegal in every state in the US. Some states had decrim but even that has clearly established limits.

Sadly conservatwats will see this point and harbor it even if they don't want that standard applied to Trump.

For example 20 years ago Trump wasn't pro-border wall, he derided Pat Buchanon for wanting it. Or how he faxed a statement to CBS before Buchanon went on saying it was important for Allies to stamp out Nazism, now he welcomes Nazis to walk hand and hand with his allies. I could go on. But yeah 20 years ago Trump decried David Duke, now he doesn't care if he supports him.

Obviously someone cares, or they wouldn't be going through the trouble of concealing information.

You just don't get it Zito. It has nothing to do with the actual candidate or their historical policy, as bad as it may be.. It has everything to do with the unethical (and potentially illegal, if Trump's hush money trial is any indication) concealing of public information in support of a political candidate during an election.

News outlets are editing articles from years ago to spin a new narrative about her. Historical data that was available a few short years (hell it might have been available a month ago for all we know) is now conveniently unavailable. Again, an example of the Dems calling for "saving the democracy" while simultaneously doing the exact things the are charging Trump for.

Projecting at it's finest.

I'd check that Nazi talk with all the Jew hate being loved by the libs.

Nazi adjacent faction of the party is very much alive and well.

The left will not renounce these actions. They have supported it consistently in the past.

Somewhat surprisingly strong performance by Harris here honestly. Wouldn’t be shocked if the news cycle keeps her around this up through the convention, but I don’t think she’s got the juice once she’s very openly campaigning.

Same-

Not sure it’s a performance yet. She’s just been simply nominated. But same

Bullet or Shrapnel discourse is so mind numbing. People need a collective firmware reset.

Seriously, an assassination attempt happened, regardless of what hit his ear. Unless you’re an actual investigator trying to gather facts for future security or Trump’s doctor and need to know for some unknown ear reason, this is a detail that doesn’t need to be sorted out.

This will not last - Trumps pollster predicted this would happen and the last part of his prediction will come true as well.

I’d tend to agree, unless Harris’ team just pulls a rabbit out of a hat.

I’d have Trump at about an 80/20 to win against Harris personally. The only path I see for Harris winning is her campaign being genuinely effective at driving the youth vote, which is clearly their plan. But I just don’t see her as charismatic enough to pull that off.

She is going to help some down ballots in liberal strongholds and potentially NV/AZ but she is going to destroy any hopes within the Rust Belt.

Don't be surprised at old white men also voting for Trump in larger numbers than they did for him against Biden in 20.

I don’t think she’ll cause anywhere near the regional shift you’re expecting. She’ll either be effective as a candidate or not, in my opinion. I don’t think there are any swing races that will vary by much based on her candidacy.

I think the Dems and Harris can accept losing that group of voters, though. It’s already a demographic Trump was going to overwhelmingly win. The key will be how they combat that.

It's entirely because they don't want to give him sympathy. Being "shot at" is seen as far less severe than "being shot." They would rather argue semantics than talk about the actual problem they created with their dangerous rhetoric.

It won't matter if the Dems can't remove themselves from this anti-Semitic movement. It's already started with Bowman in NY. The vast majority of Americans side with Israel in the conflict and seeing our nation's capital being vandalized by left wingers is going to push these people to the right. They are honestly lucky the media coverage is so biased. If this were happening under Trump's watch, you wouldn't be able to get a break from it anywhere on the news.
