I say about 3-4 weeks. If he is healthy and still has similar number to now around Sept 8, he probably secures it.

Wheeler is likely his nearest competitor to him right now, being on the 1st place Phillies and having similar traditional stats like wins and ERA. Greene will also get consideration too as long as he continues to pitch well. Skenes is a dark horse to win it given his dominant performance in such a short amount of time and being super flashy.

I initially thought beginning of sept too. But man a month is a long time for people to forget really how good you are. Plus that means the Braves probably don’t make the postseason and that could make a few voters look the other way.
 
I watched that great pitching match up with one of the worst umps making his mark on it and then fell asleep right after TDA hit is Sac fly. Just Glad Twit used Riggy in the 10th.. he has been awesome this year. there were times I slotted him behind prince albert and ozempic.. but I think he is the Braves best reliever going down the stretch.

I do think Snit is done with the passive mess he's displayed most of the year.

But using Riggy does put the team in a bind tonight. JJ and Riggy are definite no goes. So prince albert, lee, bummer are your big guns tonight I guess..with Jackson/louge and Chavez for mop up.

For whatever reason. Voters don't give a **** about a teams success when looking at the CYA.

baseball voters are among the dumbest in professional sports.. not all care about record but some do. For guys like Griffy/Madux and other all time greats of our time to not be unanimous HOF and actually receive fewer votes than a guy like Jeter tells you everything you will ever need to know about voting and baseball.
 
Before this season I think all the question marks people had going into the season we hit a home run on and everyone that was a known certainty to be a quality player went to ****. Would Sale be healthy and effective. Could Lopez transition to the rotation. Would Ozuna continue hitting like an MVP. would any of the young pitching prospects breakout. For me atleast I questioned if Iglesias was losing effectiveness. All home runs. But every other star player massively underperforms. Morton's been what we expected of him. Pen has over performed but they aren't really the stars of the team. Baseball is funny.

so IF the braves somehow hold on to clinch a WC berth.. How does the rotation shake for you.

Sale is easy #1 imo
Fried/ SS are my 2a, 2b depending on health (assuming Fried is 100%, he is clear #2)
Holmes back to pen of course.
Morton to pen and Lopez as a Hybrid role. Prepare to start as a #4 but be ready if a pen role is needed.

I think we can make it. It seems like the days of extra rest and punting games are over. Apparently Snit has told the SPs that unless there's an off day they'll all be going on regular rest the rest of the way.

It would be surprising, but I am starting to feel like Morton won't make a short series post season roster.
