Braves vs the Phil Dont suck for my first game day thread!

In a couple weeks...
Ozzie at 2b
Whit at 3b

Hopefully gio doesn't make this an easy decision

If Whit and Ramon can just tread like this for the next two weeks then what Gio gives you, or doesn't really give you won't matter thankfully.

But realistically the pitching is going to be what wins games for the most part. And that pitching stepped up last night.

Did you even read my post? I just told you Lopez (the normal 3b) was in the lineup. I just told you nacho was back at ss last night. So how was it necessuty?

I don't think it is unrealistic to see if he can play 3rd.. however, he sucked at 3rd when he was younger so I can't imagine it getting better.

seems the IL and extra rest for Lopez had the opposite affect that it did for Fried... which is why I worry Fried isn't completely healthy. Lopez averaged 96+ last night versus season avg of 95+ (FA).. even though his command wasn't completely on point, you could tell that rehab start helped as he was locating pretty well.

I am hoping Fried can come out tonight and really show he is feeling good and not this nibbling with mid tier stuff.. regardless, I am taking the Faillies money line again as it pays better than last night and I don't mind losing a few bucks if the Braves win.

How long have you been addicted to gambling? And I can't believe you would bet against your own team, you're like the reverse Pete Rose!!

I actually forgot I had an account with online bookie that had a little money in it.. so I drop a few dollars against my team.. it is a win/win in my book.. bet just enough that I don't care about losing the money.. that way if the Faillies win, then I get something out of it, but still mad.. if the Braves win, I lose a little money but overall very happy..

plus I am so bad at betting that whoever I bet on usually doesn't win.. so I am taking the hit for the Braves... your welcome.

edit...
ha.. I remembered that I opened that account in 21 dodger's series and lost a little money (through the stros)..
did it again in 22 playoffs and won money but got pissed about the ending and never touched the account until this year... man really surprised they didn't just close the account and take my money.

Yeah, that Matt is a heathen

I guess so..

I consider it my starbucks money.. a lot folks I know drop 10+ bucks a day on coffee.. I hate coffee, so instead.. I give my money to some mobster in another country I guess..

hmm, maybe I do need to rethink my principles.

Lot of UGA fans did this religiously during the 90s- early 2000s

AA has got to do everything he can to get out of that Murphy deal this offseason.

I dont think we would have any problems finding a trade partner. He averaged 5 WAR the last 2 years and any performance issues this year can be blamed on injury and small sample size. I just dont think Murphy is a good fit for the heat in Atlanta and the heat. Trading him after signing the extension might look bad but I am increasingly believing its something they should look into. Between Murphy and TDA we will be paying 23 million for our catcher tandem. Our production from catcher was still top 10 in baseball without Murphy so if we need payroll flexibility I see no better option than letting Murphy or TDA go. I think we would be better off with TDA, Baldwin, the extra payroll, and whatever we get for Murphy. Red Sox, Cubs, and Rangers all got abysmal production from catcher this year. All 3 will be looking to contend next year and in the case of the Cubs and Red Sox are dumb as ****.

If Braves come back and win the division with this lineup, give AA executive of the year. Don’t care if it coincides with Philly choking. No amount of trade deadline moves could matter with the fluke injuries we’ve compiled.

Since ASB.

Arcia - .269/.356/.394 with good defense. If we traded for SS during ASB and he produced that I think we would be very happy.

Olson- .223/.318/.464 with 8 homers. Thats a 40+ HR rate. Not great but above average for the position.

The offense overall has been much better since the ASB. Lots of power throughout the lineup. Extending the stats to a full season we have got 40+ HR production pace from Ozuna/Riley/Olson/Laureano/Soler. Arcia even hitting at a 20 HR pace and the catcher position giving us 30+ HR pace. Obviously not going to last for all players but thats a **** load of power. We just need some kind of high OBP guy to hit in front of them. Preferably someone also with 40+ HR power.

I'd like to try Merrifield at the top of the order. He's got excellent plate discipline speed and a high OBP since arriving here

So why is Whit hitting 2nd and Ramon 8th.. Is there logic behind this move that I just don't know about??

Did twit read Harper's comments and think he actually knew something??

I'd have had Laureano 6th but Merrifield is a great fit at the top of the order. He's fast gets on base and doesn't strike out
