Trump vs Harris debate

The whistleblower is not that far fetched as a believable storyline based on what we saw that night as well as what hte left has done in the past.

Not sure why people are acting as if its out of left field.

Many people here would be raising hell if they would have done this to DeSantis.

And they'd be right to do so.

It was blatant what was happening that night and Trump still came away with the only lasting impact from the Debate.

Interesting. I didn’t know that. Do you have a sauce so I can read some more about this?

Here is one program in NY where employees are getting trained while working to get better which is a direct benefit to employers. This stuff exists all over the nation and should never exist. I’ll find others.

Transitional services are also provided to ensure continued employment and to enhance opportunities for advancement.

Thanks. I don’t see anything that would suggest employers are being subsidized for hiring refugees (the training specified in this statement is training for job searching, English proficiency, etc which is not something an employer is expected to provide employees). I’m open to any evidence if you can find it.

“Continued” employment. Meaning while employed the employer is getting free subsidized training/skills improvement.

It’s a great deal for employers. Plus the government is giving refugees money so you can pay them less.

Here is something more blatant:

Refugee-hiring companies may be eligible for tax credits Employers may be able to qualify for the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) by hiring refugees. Refugees may enable their employer to be eligible for the tax credit if they are enrolled in certain public programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (known as Food Stamps).51 Companies can apply for the WOTC by submitting two forms – one to the IRS, and one to their state’s workforce agency – within 28 days of the new employee’s

That tax credit is available for hiring anyone on Food stamps

A3. An employer may claim the WOTC for an individual who is certified as a member of any of the following targeted groups under section 51 of the Code:

the formerly incarcerated or those previously convicted of a felony;

recipients of state assistance under part A of title IV of the Social Security Act (SSA);

veterans;

residents in areas designated as empowerment zones or rural renewal counties;

individuals referred to an employer following completion of a rehabilitation plan or program;

individuals whose families are recipients of supplemental nutrition assistance under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008;

recipients of supplemental security income benefits under title XVI of the SSA;

individuals whose families are recipients of state assistance under part A of title IV of the SSA; and

individuals experiencing long-term unemployment.

So unless anyone needs to see more examples (more than I found in 10 minutes) its very clear how something like this is happening.

But people that hate white people like BL will just say its about winners and losers.

What is your point here? Refugees are getting these programs and therefore become even more attractive to employers thus making it more burdensome to hire Americans who aren't receiving these services.

Well if you don’t have a job, you will qualify for food stamps, right?

It is very clear that federal/state dollars are propping up both sides of hte employment agreement for refugee workers.

If these things didn't exist ACTUAL AMERICANS would be getting hired.

Showing *both* segments steadily rising under Biden at either the same or a better rate than under Trump pre-COVID seems like an approach.

We should do since January 2021 rather than October 2019 and see the net results.

What about those that have jobs and want better ones? Do they count?

I don't think immigrants are advantaged by government programs over non-immigrants. There is a relatively small amount that is given to the agencies that sponsor them and help them settle in their new communities. Beyond that they have to compete for work on a more or less even playing field. They do remarkably well considering the linguistic and cultural disadvantages. And their children do amazingly well.

Beyond taxes, immigrants and their children contribute disproportionately on all sorts of metrics, including entrepreneurship (rates of starting a new businesses) and R&D (patents and advanced degrees in STEM fields, prestigious scientific awards). They help make America great.

They don't have to compete on the sam eplaying field because they receive additional benefits which allow them to accept lower wages.

You mean all the jobs that the government said couldn't exist and were 'allowed' again?

So net 0 gain in jobs from before COVID while foreign born spikes?

This was your actual analysis you thought sounded smart?

What benefits. There is the modest payment that their sponsors receive to help them get settled. That's about it. Some states kick in a little bit more. But there is very little that is provided specifically to immigrants.

They help make America great. And native born Americans benefit from all of that energy and drive that they bring. Just sometimes their feelings get hurt when some newbie outhustles them. Maybe we should be more discreet while running circles around them.
