Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

It’s okay to just freely admit you think medical decisions should be made by a handful of people who owned a chain of video rental stores or whatever in bum**** Texas over the people who have studied the psychology and medicine of an issue for decades. I’m just asking that you consider that argument might cut both ways.

wow they've studied the issue and came to a conclusion that they can make a **** ton of money permanently disfiguring mentally ill people. kudos to them!

but even Europe is backing off this madness. The reason America is lagging the rest of the civilized world is because our system generates insane amounts of money to prey on the mentally ill

and just as an observation for you... the three areas where you get most defensive, most vulgar, are:

1. defending pedophiles

2. defending criminals

3. defending child mutilation

DEI is a close 4th, but you're usually able to keep your head straight there

Again - People that think Psychology is established truth are comical.

Your whole worldview makes sense.

Again, it should be whatever the applicable laws say, because law and order is a two-way street. You wouldn’t accept me saying we should sentence him to *less* than the applicable statute, would you? Provide a hypothetical sentencing range based on the laws he broke and I’ll be happy to spitball an answer for you. It sounds like a pretty severe and violent crime, so I’ll probably choose somewhere in the higher end of the range.

do not be so scared to tell us he is a victim of the system, and deserves another chance.

otherwise we wouldn't be able to give him the opportunity to murder a 61 year old lady

Imagine thinking psychology is an established truth.

Pseudoscience at best

But go ahead and compare it to something like virology.

Sure, whatever. I’ll go ahead and make it my official position that absent any other information, I’ll trust the recommendation of the pseudo-scientists who have spoken with a patient over whatever charismatic local business owner who happened to read an article one time that said too many people are trans now.

The medicine is still relatively new and I welcome any and all studies that look at both the short-term and long-term outcomes of these procedures. I’m just not willing to accept you simply know better because you said so.

You compared the validity of psychology to virology.

Enough said

there are some things that don't require a fancy degree, a peer reviewed study, or any number of academic adventures to know that something is true

much like I know the man pretending to be a woman is still a man, despite what the phd professor tells me, I also know that cutting off the breast of a 13 year old girl horrific, barbaric, and wrong. I do not need a person in a lab coat to confirm that for me

Universal truths that people without any spirituality/faith do not understand.

If you want to go down this specific rabbit hole for this specific argument, I’ll kindly remind you that virology only entered the discussion because I was pointing to policies advocated for by the majority of virologists during the pandemic.

I still think people are ultimately responsible for their own actions. I think our systems are poor and lead to a larger incidence of bad outcomes than they would have if we did them better, but I do still hold that individuals are accountable for their decisions.

And I know that the current statistics suggest improved outcomes for patients that undergo this care. If that changes, I would expect the medical community will work on new treatments for patients. It’s great not to accept an appeal from authority. But you’re just appealing to “common sense” which is just an appeal to a different authority, only this authority is largely rooted in what a bunch of people who aren’t trans think about medical care they have not studied and do not personally need.

I’ll let you do the detective work to uncover why we have more heated discussions when you’re calling for removals of civil rights or due process, accusing me of wanting to tear down society and calling me a pedophile defender for situations that do not involve pedophilia.

It’s definitely that I just love those groups so much, and not because your specific positions are perhaps more controversial or aggressive in their own right.

SOME virologists. Seems like lots of the virologists who were pro-lockdown had financial benefits to them.

Not all - There was a whole collection of scientists with counter claims.

But you are actually trying to compare a borderline pseudoscience with established virology. Its a joke.

Universal truths that people without any spirituality/faith do not understand.

And there it is. I do respect your belief that universal truths are so because of your faith, but that basically ends the discussion, just as it would end the discussion for you if I stated something is obvious because of what is written in the Quran. If you want to make laws based explicitly on the understanding that Christians are empirically correct about the Universe, you’re welcome to advocate for that. But if your rebuttal is just that universal truths are obvious because God, don’t pretend it’s just naïveté that drives my perception of things and that I don’t have my own view of what makes something moral or reasonable.

Faithlessness leads to debauchery like slicing off the genitals of children.

Your ideology will be held to task and punished.

Look man, you’re the one who explicitly drew a comparison to a field of science where you have spent the past 4 years arguing against the overall consensus of that field’s scientists. I was using the analogy to make a point about government, not virology.

THe whole point of psychology is to keep people in therapy.

There is no established truth. Its a collection of theories that can never be 'confirmed'.
