It’s a bit of a shame that it’s so objectively bad for Congress to fail to block an Amendment from illicitly being declared by the President, regardless of its text, because if Republicans just called his bluff and said they want to enshrine rights for women anyway I feel like whichever strategist cooked this one up for the DNC would have his tiny head explode.
Also, in case it helps any of you guys smile later, remember that I am going to get a headache watching other liberals gleefully cheer on a naked political stunt that will almost certainly ensure that this Amendment they want to pass will never actually pass. Even on a purely practical political level this is nonsense, because the best plausible justification is a fringe leftist theory about being able to re-draw the requirements through an act of Congress, which seems like it might meet some challenges from a decidedly not fringe-left Congress or court. ****ing hell, Joe.
By the way, this won’t compel me to vote for JD Vance in 2028, but it might fuel my descent into madness. We’re just doing ceremonial Constitutional Amendments now. I guess at least I have a new baseline handy when you ask me if I think someone is virtue signaling.

2. If Mike Johnson knew of this over a year ago why dind't he he push to impeach him with this information?
Seems like a complicated process to employ when Trump can and presumably intends to just undo any of them he doesn’t agree with by his own Executive Order in 72 hours.
