That's 1 more better year in your sample size than soroka

That didn’t answer the question.

I just don’t buy the Braves can’t take a flier excuse. AA is know for looking for value with a high upside. The sale trade. Lopez signing. Even the profar signing. These guys all have great upside but at reduced cost because of various risk. Soroka is exactly that type of player.

I really have no idea of his upside. How did his pitches rate last season? I know his walk rate was newcomb level

So, Soroka is having success as a FB/SL guy now as opposed to throwing his sinker. Isn’t that what everyone here criticized the Braves for trying to turn him into during his last year here?

So, you’ve logically reduced things to the two simplest explanations: either the Braves didn’t want Soroka for some reason, or Soroka didn’t want to return to the Braves for some reason.

Correct.

Thanks for that. I had wondered.

Enyel De Los Santos is really cookin' with gas. That was the best relief inning I've seen from a Braves reliever this Spring. Popped a 98 on the gun being used in the Phillies broadcast. That probably ain't right, but ya never know. His breaking stuff looked great. I'm gonna be peeved if he doesn't make this team because they don't want to option Daysbel, for whatever reason.

He will make the team. Braves acquired him as the Minter replacement.

Wait, isn't that Jake Diekman? ;)

In all seriousness, another roster manipulation thing that Bowman mentioned is that the Braves can technically put Angel Perdomo on the IL to start the season since he ended the season on the IL recovering from TJ. It seems like dirty pool since he's actually healthy, but we should do all that's within the rules to horde pitchers for the long haul.

I was actually thinking of Perdomo when I made that comment. Either way, one of them will make the team.

Color me pumped about De Los Santos.

It’s not O’Flaherty/Venters/Kimbrel- but the cleaners look like a pretty damn strong group.

Probably anathema to say here, but I think the Braves hedge the rules on roster stuff quite a bit.
