Second ('Third') Trump Presidency Thread

trusting medicine to treat you with mercury since the 60s while also not assuming that other treatments have come even further in that same time period is certainly a way to go mgt
That’s a hell of a way to frame the federal government’s attempt to sow distrust in vaccines.

I think we would generally be better served as Americans with the world of medicine focusing on treating diseases we haven’t otherwise eradicated through previous medical interventions.
Haha

So we can’t do better lol

Probably time to stop developing computers or save energy then we already have enough methods to do what we need to accomplish!

Nah, that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is RFK is using largely unsupported science as the basis for his public policy proposals. We can and should always look further into what we put into our bodies, but he has a history of clinging to claims that are not always strongly supported when it comes to vaccines. And it’s not that it’s wrong to question the consensus, but I do think public health officials should generally refrain from taking such strong stances against the consensus absent clear and supported data. Basically the account of the HHS Director should not be used the in the way your dumbest Facebook friend’s is.

I’m not big on the FAFO trend because people generally shouldn’t be mocked for going through a hardship because of the federal government, but if your business depended on foreign labor to this extent and you voted for the guy looking to do mass deportations, yeah you kind of had that one coming dude. Just bad business sense, really.

Unlike Hakimian, actual Democrat figures should really cease with this practice though because it’s really, hideously dumb to tell voters who regret voting for your opponent that they’re big dummies instead of attempting to welcome them into the tent.

Maybe an unpopular opinion on the left, but I don’t actually give a fuck really. It’s not that I support using political motivations for firing someone, but if they’re just investigating and firing prosecutors for overzealous sentencing or abuses, I’m actually kind of on board. There were some bad hombres at the Capitol on J6 and quite a lot of them deserved to be in timeout for a while, but they didn’t all get particularly realistic or fair charges during that process. That’s the sign of a prosecutor I don’t want sentencing other Americans.

Ok, then show me some examples. If you think they were treated unfairly do you think if the situation were reversed Trumps would want Antifa treated if they did the same thing if he won? I think it would have been worse so by definition they got fair treatment. Those who showed genuine remorse and only trespassed got a slap on the wrist. Those who doubled down, attacked cops, and broke shit got more. Notice how Republicans have full control and theres no effort by them to reform the justice system or clean up jails. They were the ones who insisted the justice system should be stacked against the defendant and jails should be meant to torture people even before they are convicted of a crime in the first place.

The glee and excitement with which people share details of this very basic and shitty detention center because it’s surrounded by a swamp is already gross and weird. It’s made worse by the fact that this isn’t made for violent murderers and the worst of the worst, it’s just a solution to house more migrants pending deportation. The dudes who overstayed a visa or were working in the fields for 10 years don’t need Alligators to keep them in, it’s just cheap real estate.

Seriously, the people snatching migrants off the streets shouldn’t be doing this type of shit. It’s grotesque.
