the banana tariffs make a ton of sense!

but in reality, why does Trump need to do anything intelligent... you can see on this very page that no matter what he does, his cult will dutifully cheer
Fair, and to once again attack my brethren, his opponents will dutifully boo regardless of whether or not they understand why it’s bad. Tariffs are somehow going to become the thing that finally breaks my faith in humanity.

Qualified based on what? Californias evaluation ?
Just fucking evaluate them before issuing the work visas. Why even have the federal government involved if they can’t accomplish the Herculean task of scrutinizing the credentials provided on the visa applications?

A truck crashes and we’re pretending that the only solution is to just shut the whole thing down. It’s pathetic.

Majority of metrics are showing the price shocks and you and others like Chop/Aces were pushing have fallen flat.

Luxury non-essential goods are first world problems (PS5).

But YOU said PS5 prices wouldn't rise. Were YOU wrong?

(Someone else can ask him since he's too scared to debate me... quite the alpha lol)

How do they know what job they are applying for or that the state will actually enforce their own regulations?

This is californias error not the us.

I’d stop pointing at big bad Trump and start evaluating what happened at the state drivers license level in order for this to be allowed to happen

No matter how much daddy Gavin tells you, it’s their fault

It’s more egg on Dems faces and their constituents don’t seems to be bothered by it

Luxury non-essential goods are first world problems (PS5). For majority of Americans that are struggling in this AMAZING GLOABLIST ECONOMY aren't seeing prices increase because of tariffs at anywhere close to the level you claimed.
Why did Sony raise PS5 prices if China/Japan are eating the tariffs?

How would they specifically suspend visas for truck drivers if they don’t know this? And just require proof of meeting the required standards. Involve the FMCSA in the process to review applications. I’m not absolving California of any responsibility here to ensure commercial truck drivers are road-safe, but your response is akin to suggesting we need to take all trucks off the road because a state might be doing a lackluster job. Just suspending worker visas for all truck drivers doesn’t fix the problem, unless that problem is that freight costs are too low.

Also, I’m not Gavin Newsom’s constituent.

This was an LOL comment from the dude who does nothing but claim victory then run away and hide for weeks
That comment is a sneak preview of the finale of MAGAnomics. It would take a very long time to “remake” the economy in Trump’s vision, as thethe suggested, but he’s not going to get a very long time before his movement is forced to pay at the ballot box. We are not in year 1 of a 50 (or 25, or 100?) year run…MAGA will be out on its ass long before that. So the MAGA line on tariffs won’t be that they failed, it will be that they simply didn’t get enough time to do their magic before those dastardly D’s stole another election.

Do you think this is going to just stop? Or that Donald Trump and the Republican Party are comparatively keen on addressing that?

I’m not going to bother engaging on the migration point, because it’s unrelated to the topic at hand. On the subject of tariffs, migration is moot, because the two are not inherently tied to each other. You can have strong borders and free trade, and you can have protectionist trade policies and open borders. You’re just taking two distinctly different issues and combining them under the blanket umbrella of globalism.
I think you and I both believe strong unions working for their members interests are a good thing. Do you disagree that the ability to just offshore manufacturing has tremendously weakened the power of unions?

Of course, the same factor is in play with immigration. I talked to a member of IBW recently who was complaining about immigrant welders with no credentials underbidding jobs.

I agree that voters probably don’t have the patience, historical perspective, critical thinking skills, and forward thinking ability to endure higher priced video games long enough to restore the manufacturing industry. Just like no entitlement ever goes away, regardless of how wasteful and expensive it is, or how far we are in debt.

I do appreciate the acknowledgment that tariffs are a tax on consumers even if that acknowledgment comes by shaming consumers for what they like to purchase (in this case it’s video games).

Now if we can all just take the leap together and imagine a world where there are other things besides PS5’s that have or will see price increases from this disastrous policy.
