Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

I agree with mqt that the left has fallen into a dogma, almost religious view of politics.

My question is why. I dont accept social media as the main culprit, though one that has amplified it. A college professor or kindergarten teacher should not be immediately gleeful over a political opponent spilling his blood. Worse, not onoy gleeful, but so excited as to post about it online.

I believe leftists have moved towards Marxism, and Marxist are known to want to end the lives of their political opposition. This has happened in our education system, amplified by the media and our politicians.

Constantly calling everyone to the right of you is a fascist has consequences to the army of Marxists who are dumb enough to believe it

Its centrally coordinated Sturg - The messages are conveniently consistent as was the acceleration.

Just sitting here and allowing it to happen is no longer a valid response if we want a country.

If Donald Trump came out today and said they’d found the cause and cured cancer

There would be a large portion of the dem base that’s would wholly reject the treatment and lambast him as some sort of bio terrorist.

That’s how sick the left is.

Now what brand of car do we start firebombing bc of Charlie’s death?

I'm eager to get some new dress shoes - heck maybe even a TV for my entertainment room downstairs.

Ok - Even the above is batshit crazy but the fact this is where the left is now is hysterical in comparison to where we were 5-10 years ago when it was clear Trump was a Russian patsy and there were mountains of corroborating direct evidence proving it.

And even still - Idiots on t he left like 57 still think Trump colluded with Russia.

THANKS TO MEDIA OUTLETS LIKE MSNBC>

There are still people here that believe that Trump is Putin's puppet.

Fucking idiocy.

I dont think the response is to do nothing. As a starting point, I would like for Trump to take every legal action possible to attack the education system.

Cut off all funding to college campuses, end the DOE. If the DOE must remain, mandatory cirruculum about the evils of Marxism and the virtues of capitalism, using world history and all data

I would like him to arrest people who committed legitimate crimes, like the covid era. There must be accountability for committing crimes or else they have no reason to stop

I would like Pam Bondi replaced with a competent AG. If we want real results on criminality, there's a guy in Florida who im confident would get it done

I’ve said since the primaries I’d want RDS as AG.

But all the things you said need to happen with additional piece of dismantling antifa and going after the billionaires funding all of this

This was the realization for me as well. Charlie was pretty moderate. I was annoyed that he would change his view points to align with Trump. My views on things are much more strong than his was.

If they are happy he is dead. They would be happy I am dead. These people walk among us every day

Happy?

THey'd feel fulfilled if they killed someone like you.

I’d still like to challenge you to similarly question a couple things:

Is calling everyone to the left of you a Marxist really that much different than calling everyone to the right of you a Fascist, particularly in the specific context in which the right uses it?

How might one address your concerns about professors and teachers without addressing the elephant in the room that these people are entitled to their own protected speech (outside of the context of their actual jobs) *and* that compensation isn’t high enough for teaching to be a competitive labor market?

If many on the right are dogmatic due to their deeply held religious beliefs that inform their policy proposals and political beliefs, why is a quasi-religious dogma that much more of an issue?

My response to education is privatize 100%.

Teachers get paid strictly based on student performance on some form of accepted standardized baseline. How that baseline is established is where the real meat of the issue is...

Well for starters thats a mischaracterization of reality.

1. I dont call everyone to the left of me a Marxist. I do think an extremely uncomfortable percentage of leftists are sympathetic to Marxism as an ideology. The majority of people on the left are more socialist, as well as a major part of the MAGA platform.

2. You dont here elected republican officials calling their counterparts Marxists on any regular basis the way you heard Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, AOC, and I promise I could go on and on. These are people in positions of authority who have a responsibility to at least try to live in reality, but they choose to peddle lies and fear mongering

3. Even if your point is correct (its not), the right doesnt respond with violence the way the left does. As I posted earlier, there is no fear of riots in the streets. Freedom minded people generally believe people can be what they want, thats their rights!

On the flip side, Marxists DO embrace violence as a political strategy. Because Marxism cannot tolerate dissenting viewpoints, therefore elimination is on the table. Its why hundreds of million people have been murdered, and if our academic institutions were worth a shit, Marxism would be so unpopular that the very idea of waiving that flag should get you ostracized the same way a nazi flag or white hood does today
