REAL FOOTBALL Thread

NFL Schedule Makers thought JJ McCarthy vs. Joe Burrow and 2 good teams who should be in the playoff hunt would make for an interesting game.

Instead we get to see Jake Browning take on Carson Wentz. And known KOC, Wentz is gonna fucking ball out and people will question if JJ should come back.

Penix may not be him.

Hope I'm wrong but this is a horrific result. Like one I've never seen a franchise QB make. I've seen bad games but this was a team who gave up 26 points to the Jaguars and Cardinals.

I'm not saying give up the season on him, but if things don't turn around in a week or 2, bring Cousins off the bench.

The Falcons remain the worst run organization in the NFL. The incompetence is staggering. We actually picked Raheem Morris to be our head coach. How can you do that with a straight face?
We didn't fire Terry Fontenot after the rebuild failed. Terry should have been fired after last year. What other GM gets 4 years of losing. NFL expected rebuild is about 3 seasons.

I expect TF will be gone after this year and Morris will be allowed to pick the replacement. I think Morris will get 2-3 more years at least. Blank has an unhealthy love for Morris.

You could be right. Terry has to be fired if we don't make the playoffs. 5 losing seasons is truly unacceptable. Especially with some of the dog shit drafts.

I won’t shed a tear when he’s gone (Kirk + Penix combo was truly a disaster), but I do think he nailed this last draft and I still like Penix.

2025 was a strong draft, but the rest are pretty questionable.

2021 had Pitts who is not even remotely close to number 4 pick worthy. The best pick, was Dalmon who we let leave.

2022 was a decent draft considering it was a shit year. London was a solid WR, Allgeier was excellent value, Ebiketie seems to finally be coming around,

2023 has decent results for the picks. Bijan is one of the best RBs in the NFL, Bergeron is a solid guard, but that's about it.

2024 is super confusing, Penix could be legit, Orhorhoro seems like a decent DT, but I don't think he's worth trading pick 79 to move up. I think he would have been there at 43 and even if he wasn't there were decent |DT there.

The 2025 draft won't look as good after the disaster that will be the 2026 draft. We mortgaged the 2026 draft to make this year's what it was. Next year will be ugly.

Pitts was an absolute disaster of a pick. If you're going to pick a TE top 5 then he has to basically be a HOFer that redefines the position. Anything less should cost you your job.

I'm starting to get worried about London. Dude has been MIA so far this year. Hopefully his lack of speed isn't catching up with him.

Bijan is a great player but was he worth the pick? We had Allgiers and could have added another back in a later round. Was the upgrade to Bijan from that worth a top 10 pick?

TF should have been fired on the spot when taking Penix. Sinking so much cap space into Cousins then drafting Penix in the top 10 never made any sense. The whole staff and front office should have been cleared out on the spot.

Also can we all get on the Danny Dimes for MVP bandwagon.
Dude is so mediocre I can't stand it. Colts have a great OL and he is mostly accurate. But he makes zero outstanding throws. I can't tell you how many times yesterday he dinked and dunked and let his receivers create something out of nothing. So frigging annoying.

I said this at the time and Zito said Pitts was gonna be Jimmy Graham 2.0, lol.

Taking a TE top 10 is terrible value unless they become the best TE in football. I said the same thing about Bowers last year and Bowers may be the best overall TE prospect that has ever come out. It's gotta be either him or Shockey. Finding a solid starting TE in the draft is pretty easy although they typically take a season or 2 to develop.

Vernon Davis was the best prospect to
Come out. His combine was something out of a freak show

Until Rich McKay is gone we're effed.

Niners are so snakebit. Looks like they replenished so much key depths with the last two drafts and now Bosa donezo. The worst…:
