Economics Thread

The last several months have already illustrated that no, no one can tell you how. Or rather, they can tell you how, but it won’t sink in.

Well you can't even tell me how prices have gone up outside of anecdotes.

Why are producer prices plummeting in China?

Eventually it should be obvious that tariffs are taxes on people huh?

If we don't deport minimum 10M illegals from this country there will be mass civil unrest because of the automation that is just on the horizon.

Further than that - We have to restrict legal immigration severly to only the absolute brightest.

I'm confused on what happens when all the workers are replaced. Who has money to buy stuff from Amazon and others when you have no job?

I'm not too worried about my job as a project manager/estimator in construction in Mississippi, but I'm sure there's gonna be a killer to many Americans this next decade

Correct... another disastrous dumb assumption policy from the worst president since FDR

This is straight up retard behavior.

Anyoen with a remote beat on the car industry knows that COVID jacked up the prices of the used cars because new cars weren't being made and there's no motive for anyone to jack up production because everyone is making more money.

Also the modern car is not built to last and really hasn't been for almost 20 years.

Even ignoring that, what kind of retard shit is it that you'd blaming a program from 16 years ago to the modern issue.

Playing the odds, what are the chances that a 96 Ford Explorer would still be road ready today?

AI and Robotics will be a massive deflationary bomb to everyday goods. Costs of production across all industries will plummet

A lot if the questions now surrounding AI implementation is that while you lower your costs customers are all aware of that and will demand those savings past to them.

Eventually the tech will be so good that basic things will effectively be free. As a result a person will only need to raise a small amount of funds to survive.

It’s always fun when I tell you guys something is true and you all laugh and mock. Then when that thing ends up being true we hear silence.

As I have said repeatedly - foreign suppliers pick up the bulk of the tariffs. It’s how it always works when you have the power of the US market.

Health care experts never seem to understand. Next we will be hearing “yeah those reduced or consistent prices are great but imagine how much lower they’d be without tariffs!!!”

And now a deal with India with a baseline tariff. What’s going to happen when prices don’t move? Who is paying the tariffs?
