This was the amount under questionable use and not stolen funds. The amount in the Somali case is clear cut and growing.

One thing that seems like it could be perversely true is that immigrants perpetuate this fraud at a higher rate because the cross-section of the populations of people smart enough to do it at this scale and still poor enough to do so is almost entirely composed of first-generation immigrants.

You’re missing the big piece here. The immigrant groups build a self contained and policed community so large scale collusion can take place.

This fraud for Somalis were easy because at most levels it was just another Somali who cares more about Somalia than America. That’s not their fault. It’s our fault for letting them in the country.

I think thethe gets overly scrutinized at times because he is the only one willing to revel in it. When others are called out, they either scatter or scold you. Thethe just openly says he’s on a mission from the MAGA Gods to spread the good word.
 
The simple reality is that 3rd world culture is different than western culture and if there is an opportunity to steal or scam or hurt others they will take advantage at a much higher rate.

Yes - end stage capitalism isn’t pretty and I’ve mentioned this on numerous occasions.

But it’s not the same thing at all. Corporations saving money on taxes helps Americans directly/indirextky in my many scenarios. This Somali fraud only hurt.
