REAL FOOTBALL Thread

This stupid ass team… just love to look like a dominant team when it doesn’t mean shit. Love the defense draft this year… too bad their rookie contracts will all almost be up by the time we have anywhere close to the rest of the pieces
Raheem isn't getting fired. I just know it. They'll beat the Saints and point to injuries again as to why we didn't get more than 8 wins, when really if we had a decent coach we win 11 minimum this year.

Falcons win Monday was classic Falcons. Lose when it matters then win enough when it doesn't to convince the execs that no change needs to be made.

It was one ugly win. Got gifted a 21 point lead on the back of one of Stafford's worst throws of the year and a defensive breakdown on Bijan's run. Then proceeded to be outscored 24-3 in the second half until the final minute.

Even once they retook the lead they let a Rams receiver get wide open for an easy TD if Stafford doesn't flat out miss him. Then they committed pass interference inside their own 20 but somehow the refs "missed" it.

So basically they played poorly overall but barely managed to benefit enough from the Rams mistakes to win and prop up a staff that never should have been hired.

I've come to terms with Morris being back. Blank is a great businessman but an absolute idiot where football is concerned. He loves Morris like a son and Morris can throw all the buzzwords out that makes Blanks little businessman heart flutter. Blank will look for any reason to retain Morris.

Anyone actually watching the Falcons knows that Morris is a complete trainwreck of a head coach. The only way you can not see it is to either know nothing about football or else have reason to convince yourself Morris is great in spite of the evidence.

The Falcons brass suffer from both a lack of football knowledge and strong reasons to be delusional.

Morris is a disaster of a head coach. He is the worst current HC in football by a large margin and has a case to be the worst living head coach period. But he wasn't hired to be good. He was hired to not make problems for the front office. At that he excels.

The Falcons have somehow managed to out-Falcon themselves. It's probable that Tampa and Atlanta will win this weekend, which means the Falcons will finish in a three-way tie atop the division - which means we'll be able to say the truly astounding sentence, "If they had just beaten the New York Jets, they would have made the playoffs." The absolute best thing that could happen for many people is this franchise be relocated to St. Louis. It would free so many of the self-imposed obligation to actually root for this team.

Or we beat the Panthers once. I think if we beat the Panthers Once we may have clinched the division right now. We could be the kings of shit mountain who won the division at 8-9. Like my math may be wrong, but as I understand the tiebreaker, the Panthers hold the tiebreaker because they have th ebest record of common games being 3-1 vs. Bucs nad Falcons but if they're all 2-2 the Falcons would win because of conference record.

The asswhooping the Panthers gave us in Week 3 would have had me firing Raheem right away. But follow that up with the home loss, and apparently Bryce Young when he plays the Falcons he turns into Peyton Manning.

Point is this team couldn’t clear the bare minimum bar of competence for any NFL franchise, which is to beat the Jets. Didn’t Bijan have over 200 total yards that game? And they still lost.

Yup. We'd be like 2-15 without Bijan. He's had 7 games with 150+ yards from Scrimmage. And we're 6-1 in those games, with the one loss being the Jets, We had the ball twice in the 2 minute warning in the 4th and got 1 yard. A Bijan 1 yard run followed by 5 Cousins incompletions. And Ulbrich for the good he's done vs. good teams fucking sucks vs. bad ones. Tyrod Taylor looked like Josh Allen,

We're a terribly coached team and we're wasting the prime of one of the best players the Falcons have ever had.

There are reports that the Falcons are leaning towards firing Fontenot and keeping Morris. Only the Falcons could be that stupid. I have no problem if Fontenot gets fired but at least he has some good draft picks to hang his hat on. Morris has been a complete trainwreck.

Firing TF and keeping Morris would be like having a gangrenous leg and cutting off your other leg instead hoping it will help.

Only way I can forgive this, is if they give the new GM full authority to fire Raheem. Though Raheem should also be fired.

There are people to paid money to watch Tanner McKee play Josh Johnson with the Eagles handing the ball off to Tank Bigsby.

And out in Vegas we get to see Oladokun play Kenny Pickett.

NFL is a joke of a league sometimes.

I expect if they fire TF and keep Raheem that they'll give Raheem a huge voice in naming the new GM. The execs can't admit Morris was a bad hire because that would mean admitting they were wrong.

So I fully expect they'll blame TF for everything and say Morris needs to pick a GM he can work closely with.

This is how poorly run this team is.
