There’s a difference in individual accountability and general policy. The officer can be guilty without the DHS policy being bad. The officer can be guilty and the coordinated insurrection still be at fault. Should the officer be punished? Possibly. Should the people organizing and financing the “peaceful protests” be blamed? Definitely. Is the policy achieving desirable goal? Absolutely.

Blanket immunity would be supporting them gunning down people on the streets screaming at them from the sidelines. Blanket immunity is not the results of a direct combatant resisting arrest.
