The Atlanta Braves reportedly won't have designated hitter Jurickson Profar for the 2026 season. The 33-year-old Profar is facing a 162-game suspension after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug for the second time in the last year, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

I wonder how long they've know this? I mean the testing didn't happen yesterday I wouldn't think. Seems like the last time he got busted he was tested in the offseason and notified in ST. If known several weeks or months ago it would have been nice to know while options were still available.

I'm guessing that he'll never play another game for the Braves. He'll be 34 coming back from 2 strikes in 27. Hard to believe that AA won't simply move on.

My guess, after hearing Passan on 680 the Fan, would be they tested him and a bunch of others right around the start of spring, but they don't get the results back instantly. There's no way Weiss would have bent over defending him in that recent interview if they knew.
