Minor League Thread Part Deux

Translation:

Alfredo Sena, the Dominican prospect from the class of 2027 who will make history in the international market.

He has a pre-agreement with the Atlanta Braves for a record $5.8 million signing bonus.

“He is the best shortstop in the history of the international market. He bats from both sides, has power, speed, and Gold Glove defense.”
Heard that about Maitan too but I am excited to see this dude develop.

Wow! That's beyond exciting. Load that farm up!

Every scout missed on Maitan. But Maitan wasn't without skill. He undid himself. Food. Superstar treatment before he even signed, generational money for his family (he ate his way through it), work ethic, etc. Some of us are old enough to remember Edward Salcedo. He was my gotcha guy. Sena's knock from scouts is that he's a superstar in his own mind right now. Doesn't mean he won't work, but I'll be all over it! I've been so excited to think of adding him...

Yeah I thought I remembered you saying Sena thinks quite highly of himself... I feel like that arrogance was there with Maitan also... I just hope he will work hard.

It’s nice to see guys like Hartman and Gil so dramatically improve for many reasons, but a big one for me is it means they’re working their asses off to do so.

It’s fairly common for these guys to get crushed by the fast food here.

Yall got me laughing with the comments. It's nice to be able to laugh through the bs that Coppygate put us through and to see this system flourishing again. I've had so much fun watching Rome/Augusta. Columbus in some ways too. To see optimism again is as exciting as having the best team in mlb.

McKenzie was 92-95 with his fastball. Gave up an unearned run because of a triple by Rays Triple A prospect Tre Morgan, who is on rehab assignment.

Tornes had a leadoff single and then stole another base. Essenburg had a 102mph line out. Martinez followed with a 108mph single.

Eric Longenhagen on Hartman:

"The data looks really great. 50% hard hit rate, 108 EV 90, 75% contact, 84% zone contact. Stiffer athlete, bat path is kinda funky and I still think there's variability in how he handles secondary stuff as he's promoted. CF defense feel isn't great, but he easily has the speed to develop out there. Bat speed looks real to me to the eye even though it requires a ton of effort...

Was 33% hard hit rate guy last year, 108 max. So this guy has really, really changed and is definitely an arrow up dude. Reminds me a lot of when Jarren Duran started breaking out."
