GDT #55, 5/31/14: Braves (Santana) vs. Marlins (Turner), 4:10 EDT

Your CF has got to catch that ball. Almost every other MLB CF catches that. It's unreal how little range he has coming in. He catches nothing hit shirt of him. Nothing.

That's absurd, he is playing back protecting against a double that would tie the game, and if he dives for that ball and it gets by him the ballgame is tied. You can't put that on BJ, it's all on Carpenter for not being able to get anyone out and he never should have been in the game in the first place.

I said last night Carp shouldn't be a high leverage guy and some people got all ruffled up. He's a middle reliever at best. No command. Doesn't walk people but doesn't command.

Amazing the way our farm system keeps producing: Add Shae Simmons and LaStella to Wood, Gattis, Teheran, Simba, Avilan, Minor, Kimbrel, Freeman, Venters, Heyward, not to mention a couple pretty good starting pitchers on the DL. A great, great period of productivity for the scouting and farm systems.

He was back but that ball was in he air forever. Just about every other CF catches that without diving. He never comes in and catches anything.

Absolutely agree. BJ is a crappy center fielder but that's one hit you can't put on him given the situation you described.

I think La Stella is here to stay. He may be the shot in the arm offensively that we need. Had to update my avatar lol.
