GDT 6/14/'14: Braves (Floyd) vs. Angels (Richards) 7:15 EST

I didn't get pinch running for Gattis with Uggla.

Freddi really makes some awful in game decisions. He handles the clubhouse great but its those type of decisions that make me nervous.

Didn't make sense. Gattis isn't the slowest thing out there. Uggla is now relegated to a pinch runner? Might as well call up Cunningham for that role.

When a grizzly bear starts running he is pretty fast.

you try running from them and get clawed to death.

Wow, I did not know this. Why does he have 70 less at bats? Is this this whole day off after a night game thing?

Not that much professional catching experience plus some issues with his knees. I think they are treating him like a pitcher and stretching him out over a year. Essentially they are buying time till the DH comes to the NL and Gattis hits 45+ homers a year.

I am just completely dumbfounded.

Not only do you take your best hitter out of the game, but you just depleted all your potential pinch hitters on the bench. And the move makes no sense from the get go, because Uggla is not a better runner than Gattis. Obviously, he isn't a better base runner, as he didn't freeze on the line drive with only 1 out.

He missed about a week with the virus, too, right?

TLS has an OBP of 441.

I didn't think it was possible for an Atlanta Braves player to have an on base rate that high.

I think I understand why Fredi made the call to pinch run Uggla. Don't think I would've done it, but that's neither here nor there.

If Simmons liner is about a foot more to the right, we're not talking about it. Instead we're celebrating a win right now.
