I had said he was becoming one (because he was). He was striking out a lot and taking no walks. A hot streak is nice, I didn't think he was as bad as he was showing. But it's still just a hot streak, and was terrible for much, much longer than he was hot.

Say what you will about Laird, but he threw out 36% last year and is at 40% this year. For his career he is at 36%, 9 points above the MLB average for that span.

Why the **** do you (and others) want to trade this guy? He's been a little anxious this year, needs to command the zone a little better, but is there any reason at all to believe that he can't hit?

No doubt. In all fairness, and in spite of the grief Braves fans give him, he's a nice backup catcher. David Ross, anyone?

you're kidding, right? He hasn't hit for three months. A little anxious? And Niagra Falls is a little wet?

He has improved each month. He was scuffling a bit coming into this weekend, but he will hit better this month than he did last.
