Government surplus. Got them cheap. They're not tanks

This world is so polarized now that I don't think it will fix itself until Armageddon.
I'm sure the business owners have insurance. They can rebuild but can that young mans family get their son back? Hell no....that's the real tragedy. Both situations are wrong but a young man is murdered that is more important than a damn business.
Njc, story coming out is the young man jumped the cop and went for his gun.
Whether you believe that or not is fine. But to throw 'murder' around when you have no clue what happened is wrong.
Oh, so they have insurance, no one is harmed in that, right? How bout the store owner going months without income? What if he was trying to send his children through college? What if the insurance money isn't enough to rebuild his store? What if everyone's insurance rates go higher because of this an they have to jack up prices?
Neither you nor I know why the kid was shot. Niether you nor I know if it was justified.
But they are saying that is what happened in the case in Cali. I have not heard what you have stated in this case here. (There is just too many cases going on with police officers murdering black men). If the police officer was defending himself fairly then I have no problem with that. But until then It is murder. I want the police officers name, his arrest, and I want better police interaction with the protesters and reporters.
So its murder until proven innocent? That sounds like a big problem.
Im guessing the tanks aren't provided by the police department.
But here is something that makes no sense, that is inarguable: Ferguson (population: 21,135) has about 40 robberies per year, a couple of homicides, almost no arson cases and a crime rate only a bit higher than the national average. Indeed, the town’s crime rate was going down as of two years ago, when the last major data is available. Ditto in neighboring St Louis.
Now St Louis isn’t exactly the picture of safety, but two years ago the St Louis Police Department also acquired a Lenco BearCat armored military vehicle, a “tactical support vehicle” and a helicopter that’s popular with the Korean air force. Earlier this year, the US Department of Homeland Security donated a 22-ton Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle – the thing we used on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan – to the police department in nearby St Charles, Missouri (population: 66,463).
Unfortunately, they are:
Yes there is a big problem when police officers don't know how to take down a unarmed man without killing him.

Better trained police officers who aren't fearful of blacks or trying to be cowboys.
Not surprising at all.
Are you serious?
Even gilesfan admitted the militarized police forces are escalating tensions, when their job is very much to de-escalate.

This young man was unarmed. You are telling me that police officers can't successfully take down a unarmed man. They are trained for this. My mom arrested young men with Uzis!!!
I just don't believe he was reaching for the officers gun.
Thankfully, this is not how our justice system works.
