Really forward lineup from the US.

GK - Guzan
RB - Johnson
CB - Brooks
CB - Orozco
LB - Chandler
CM - Diskerud
CM - Bedoya
CAM - Corona
RW - Gyau
LW - Green
ST - Jozy

So far it's had some really interesting things happening in the first 4 minutes. Green and Jozy have looked sharp so

My thoughts on the US's first half. Corona has largely disappeared. Bedoya was hit or miss. Brooks was strong, Orozco was eh. Chandler and Johnson looked very comfortable. Mix looked great and he was all over the pitch. The possibility of him and Bradley together is exciting. Gyau looked great on the ball. Green's corners weren't great but he was in space all day. Some better reading from the US would have set us up better.

Rimando was the hero in the save department. But man is he bad in distribution. US looked much worse after the midfield changes. I won't put that on Ream as aside form maybe one chance and a botched clearance he was fine. I think Mix getting off was rough. Rimando helped his case but Guzan was strong as well. US will have some fun battles over the next year.

I'm actually a little burnt out on national team games after this summers world cup event. Its a little annoying that the club seasons start up and then go right into a week or two hiatus. Arsenal / Man City @7:45am saturday the 13th should be worth the wait though.

QPR is a veritable who's who of former top club players

Steven Caulker - Spurs
Mauricio Isla - Juventus (on loan)
RIo Ferdinand - Man U
Nike Krancjar - Tottenham
Sandro - Tottenham

And as I'm typing this Bob Green gets beat far post on a bad service from Di Maria, allowing Di Maria his first Man U goal.

Di maria looks like the player that Man U has been missing. He provides the insane pace and personality to break when needed. I'm shocked Valencia isn't working out better under Van Gaal but he's looked pretty bad since the Summer.

That was men against boys yesterday. Looked like Welbeck could have beaten their CB's, but Arsenal had so little meaningful possession and there was no service. Everywhere else on the pitch, BVB looked head and shoulders above Arsenal (and weren't they missing several key players?)

Dortmund would be a fun bandwagon to hop on if they weren't ultimately a farm team for Bayern. Excellent atmosphere in the stadium, cool color scheme, fast and attractive soccer, hot shot coach. They have a lot going for them, if they could only keep their best players from fleeing to Bavaria.

I love watching them. Even with Bayern takes their best players, they still compete with them. I also chuckle that a lot of guys leave for more money, but end up coming back. Sahin, Kagawa,

That's because Kagawa and Sahin are not amazing players but worked extremely well in Klopp's system. Sahin barely played in Real and couldn't break into a mediocre Liverpool. Kagawa played a lot for Sir Alex and was fine, Moyes had no clue what to do with him, Van Gaal got rid of him cause he's not even remotely close to the class of Rooney, Mata, and Di Maria, much less he's not better than Young or Valencia or as versatile as say Januzaj. Kagawa probably could have stuck at a club like Everton but why play on a team on the fringes of the Premier league top when you can play in the UCL every year.

On a different note, how did no one buy Mats Hummels? Dortmund must have asked for a literal fortune for him. Cause Man U wanted him and clearly had money to burn.

Is there a more underrated player than Thomas Muller? He's so versatile, smart and above all clinical in his finishing. he rarely misses the target.

Reading through the scores today. Birmingham City right now is seemingly the US representative in England. With Shea, Spector and Packwood, they hav e a good deal of Americans.

ALso watching the Sunderland game. Connor Wickham sucks. He's started all 4 games and has 0 goals. In todays game he's not held up play. Only thing he's done well in is winning aerial duels. He's young so he has much room to improve, but I'm not sure why he's the choice starter if he keeps not scoring though. Not like he's being pushed that hard, as Jozy and Fletcher haven't gotten on the scoring either, but Sunderland has been pretty much devoid of chances aside from a few long shots and a few weak headers. Johnson had the only creative run and he didn't get a good shot off as he was run off the ball.
