GDT: 7-29-13 Rockies at Braves, Feeling a little Beachy.

That's a pitch Johnson has to be disciplined enough to take if he wants to win a batting-title.

(And, to be clear, I'd really like to see him win the batting-title.)

Gattis makes a big throw! I suppose I get 'spoiled' when a player has an amazing stretch of baseball only to return to 'normal' later that upsets me. Gattis' amazing start (clutch homer-wise), JUp's ridiculous start, Medlen's run last year, etc. Wonder what people will do if and when CJohnson has a slump?

Just don't try to shoehorn him into the leadoff role and he can relax and do good things with the bat.

If anything I eventually want Simmons batting second behind Heyward. I love his high contact rate there.

Don't like bringing him in to face Cuddyer.

Avilan actually had better splits vs righties in minors. So treating him like a pure lefty specialist doesn't make sense.

I'm more concerned about Avilan pitching three straight games. He seems to fade after two straight.
