France attack...

Love that those running for president on the right are using this event to criticize for not sending a high profile person as a "symbolic" gesture. These symbolic gestures are more annoying than political correctness.

Many on the left are criticizing The administration too.

Yawn.

It'd be more of a risk for Obama to be there. Plus the Secret Service needs weeks to vet and scout places like this. A million strangers in a foreign country on a long street. That's a secret service nightmare.

I agree that there was no real practical reason for Obama to have been there, but the security argument is weak. If the Israelis felt comfortable with Bibi walking then I trust that security was absolutely airtight. Plus, the entire point of the march was to demonstrate, 'Hey, we're not afraid.'

Kerry, who can speak French, would have been the perfect representative for the US to have sent. Modi is going to be around for a while.

John Kerry speaking French is the first recorded case of someone speaking french drying up a vagina.

who cares ---

He sends someone he's criticized if he doesn't...
Right Wing angst is beyond tired

I got over it way back when when they were freaked out the Speaker of the House had access to a USAF plane. Or vacations or something equally petty.

Ok I know no one here is a (R) any more -

The leaders of Palestine and Israel are more likely to have been attacked than Obama. If they were there Obama would had been safe.

Obama didn't necessarliy have to go but someone from the administration should had went

Just thank God it wasn't Eric Holder, that would have been an insult.

Whomever we sent will be just as much as a hypocrite on freedom of the press as the other leaders

Fox News last night: "Obama didn't even send Biden!"

Obama sends Biden: "Obama should have gone himself!"

Obama goes himself: "Oh sure, Obama can go to France, but he can't even manage to show up in NYC for a cop's funeral?"

Obama has given us enough to legitimately criticize him for the next thousand years. The should he/shouldn't he have gone to France is just silly nonsense that means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

The idea that Obama or someone higher up in the Administration should have gone to France is foolish.

Love this Gawker article though

I don't get why people just seem to care about worthless token gestures. Like pretending to care about **** is more important than doing things. This is like the 3rd time krg has bitched about Obama not making a token gesture that legally would have no impact. He's ****ed enough **** up, why focus on stuff that doesn't matter? It's like the dems when Bush was in office who talked about his vacation time.

I absolutely think there needs to be us representation at such an important global unifying g event. To state this is just a toKen appearance minimizes the overall importance and event like this can have on future actions and mindset.

I'm sure ISIS is shaking in their boots now that they saw world leaders most of whom were already united against them walk down a street and march peacefully.

They're die hard liberals Thethe, who criticized Bush for every thing but won't hold Obama accountable for anything. They keep on mentioning the right and Fox News without admitting that many liberals are also upset that no high ranking official from America went.

To say that the leader of the free world shouldn't have shown up to denounce terrorism after a terrorist attack is laughable. Who was the first world leader to visit the White House after 9/11? The then French President

This is not supposed to be a message to ISIS or any radical group. It's a rallying cry for all free nations that we will no allow those who wish to use fear against others to intimidate us. We will not bow down and we will not quit until the whole world is free from this perverted beliebelief system.

The magnitude of the threat which radical Islam poses to the free world is still somehow minimized amongst so many. How many more people have to be beheaded or killed before people wake up? This is going to be a huge issue for the next 100 years if we continue to half ass it

old enough to remember when Obama was an empty-suit celebrity who cared too much about European adulation

The enemy of my enemy is my friend thing really works for the right here.

The right hates France because they're a socialist country with high taxes and everything conservatives stand against. Even had the freedom fries campaign during the iraq war. But they hate Obama even more so now they love the French.

In the month following the Senate Torture Report perhaps our horse not as high as some think it !!

Let's take a look backwards and recall how many beheadings and these other atrocities you decry occurred before March 2002.
Now, tell me how people critiquing the Bush administration stacks up to the current admin.

I'll take my answer off air
