My advice would be figure out what type of shoes you should be using and adjusting accordingly.

This is totally spot on. I'd recommend looking up a store near you that specializes in running shoes. They'll have you try on a bunch of different ones and have you get up on a treadmill to watch the way your feet land to see if it's the right kind of support you need. The shoes can be a bit pricey but it's well worth it if you're an avid runner and/or training for marathons.

My advise for dealing with shin splints. Don't be a ****ing pussy. If Jim Brown can run for nearly 1000 yards on a broken toe, you can run through your shin splints. #nopainnogain #livefreerunhard

Shin splints hurt, but power through them. They generally only are a shock to your shins when you first start out jogging. Especially if you haven't been active for sometime.

Anyway I have been back in the gym lifting regularly for about five weeks. I have noticed muscle gains especially in my puny arms. I have also gained about 5 lbs too. Pretty excited with the results.

Membership at LA Fitness. Go regularly. Do weight training 2x/week, alternating b/tw upper & lower body. Yoga 3x/wk. Need more cardio, besides machines. Have done Zumba a few times. It'd kind of fun and always with a room full of women. Downhill ski on Fridays while conditions last.

Will be attending Yoga Conference in Toronto, weekend after Easter. Scheduled for 8 hrs of classes on the Saturday and 6 hrs on the Sunday. This is the annual tuneup. Over 90% women. They're happy and they're wearing stretch pants. What more could you want?

All that yoga and you still have that much of a hot head?

My cardio is severly lacking and so is my core.

I've been working out with a friend of mine who's in really good shape. I've been doing basically every single exercise incorrectly. Squats are great for your core, provided you're doing them the right way. But pretty much every exercise, your core should be flexed and straight, which by itself indirectly strengthens it.

How do you do a squat that doesn't engage your core?

I don't squat anymore cause of my knees. But squat days worked everything aside from arms and upper back. I usually did squats and arms on the same day for that reason then didn't want to do anything the next day.

I mean I have leg days mixed into my workout routine, but I have been known to put those off.

That's a mistake because the majority of your strength comes from your legs and core. Working out without heavily focusing on those areas is just doing it to look good and not really caring about your physical cindition.

Or just someone who was never trained to do things with the exact correct form.
My friend has been in great shape for as long as I can remember and even he realized he was doing a bunch of things incorrectly. I'm sure your little asian ass is, too.

I am pretty healthy overall. I am mainly doing this to get more toned and put on some muscle. I am not a young pup anymore and I do care about trying to keep my body looking defent. My physical condition is fine save for my disability on certain areas as a result of the army.

Working out your back and chest is still really good for you, as is general cardio. I'm aware you're not supposed to skip legs, they just suck so it's easy to, and even the most in shape people I know skip it more than they will anything else. But yes, a big part of working out for me is looking good, too.

Been lifting since I was 13 son. My form has always been sound. Something I've been anal about since high school.
