Detroit was like a mill from matching that and he will leave for Miami. Take that info how you want I guess.

Yeah, we were offering 17mil per year. Would have been crippling... I'm not sure how to feel. Impossible to replace Suh, but we're in the mess bc of monster contracts already.

Not even a whisper about Atlanta. We may be waiting til the secondary waive of FA's. Probably smart.... Would love McPhee though

49ers the reported favorites for Torrey Smith. Smith is a legit downfield option and the 49ers have needed that for a decade. I like what Torrey could bring to the team, but he's wildly inconsistent. I am sure it will be an overpay. Maybe something along the lines of a 4 year deal worth 26 million total?

8 mill per Id think

They are connected to Brooks Reed, Ron Parker, Walter Thurmond III, etc. That essentially validates your point.

I'd read those names, hasn't been a whisper in the last day or so with signings hot n heavy.

Reed is intriguing, but at the mike. His pass rush skills never evolved, but plays the run extremely well and isn't awful in coverage.

I am hoping Cobb sort of set the bar. I know he (Cobb) took less to stay with the Packers. Reports were he had 4/48 deals on the table. Torrey is not in the same league as Cobb.

Any receiver would look better with the best QB of all time in his prime throwing it to you.

Probably 7-8 mil a year.

He turned down 5/35 before the season from Baltimore.

Areyou really trying to argue Smith is better than Cobb?

No. Just how much the gap is truly their ability or the QB throwing them the ball is what my argument is.

Not like its going to matter since its Kap throwing him the ball next year.

But, if you don't think that a lot of receivers could be as productive as Cobb with the best QB of all time throwing them the ball then I will just have to disagree with you.

Cobb is really really good. No doubt he's elevated by Rodgers, but he's wildly efficient.

Torrey Smith is very dissimilar to Cobb actually.

Yes. And Torrey has played with a QB that matched his talents as Flacco has a strong arm/throws good deep ball

WR production can depend on the QB, but that doesnt mean all WRs are the same.

Cobb and Torrey couldnt be any more different.

Cobb can play outside/inside.

Torrey is mostly a deep threat, but has improved as an outside guy.

I don't see how the arguement could be made otherwise. Cobb is young, versatile, and dynamic. Smith runs fast.

I'm not trying to make an argument that Cobb is a scrub. But a WR is very limited based on how good their QB is. Thats just the nature of football and why QB's get BY FAR the most money.
