I saw a reference to someone "raging" if that happens way earlier in the thread. I thought that it was a very accurate description.
Was only half-heartedly watching when they kept showing that dude last night and wondered about why.
NOW I get it!!!
Perfect example of how you tend to miss things when you're not paying complete attention!!!

Hated getting rid of Tommy. I didn't understand it and I still don't. The guy is a perfect type of player we wanted to build the team with this year, yet we got rid of him? Stupid.

Man, if La Stella can play a competent third base, that just makes the trade look even worse.
Don't want to assume he can- this is the kind of thing you do in spring training. But it's worth noting.

He's slow, has very little power and is below average on defense. The kind of player they seem to want to build around this year is fast, has very little power and is below average on defense. Big difference.

I think he's a future utility guy. He won't be a 3B for the Cubs long term with Bryant in the wings. La Stella probably will do alright in that role, but I will say that I've never quite understood how the Braves' minor league system develops some guys. La Stella's glove has always been the question mark for him in the scouting reports I've read over the years. I don't know if his bat will carry, but having him play multiple positions when he was coming through the system could have given the front office a better idea of what role he could play. LH multi-position IFs tend to stick around for awhile, even if they can't play SS.

I see Jace Peterson has two hits already today vs Adam Wainwright. That's good. I'm watching the other game right now but I'll check out the game against the Cardinals later. I'll probably catch the second half of it on my tablet soon while I watch the game against the Nats on my TV.

Come on guys... Be careful with the ST blinders... LaStella is nothing more than a utility player. He is only a singles hitter. Viz can still be a dominate force in the bullpen now he's healthy.
And Jace is a better prospect IMO.

It's really not even close. La Stella as a 3B is a nightmare. Awful D and no power. CJ has more pop

Just to be clear since I made the original post on La Stella. I was just wondering how he looked at third base.
That said, Heyward just crushed what would've been a two-run bomb off Viz just barely foul. Heyward then walks on the next pitch, I like Viz but he's not been sharp so far this Spring Training.

Braves-Cardinals game stays scoreless after I think Joe Benson throws out another runner at the plate. Benson has a really strong arm, he nailed someone another game too and it wasn't even close.
Benson with a leadoff single to start the 7th for the Braves. Good game for him already.

I know, he has the stuff to be a good set-up man or closer if he gets his command in order and stays healthy.
