Spring Training 2015

I think it will boil down to Terdoslavich or Kelly Johnson. Curious to see what Fredi and company decides.

I think so. I've always been a big KJ fan, so that will be a tough one. KJ offers a lot more flex and probably a better ability to come off the bench and spot start. Keeping Callaspo is probably the "safe" move.

I'd love to see Cunningham get a shot, too.

Lol you said he never looked comfortable at 3rd and it was pretty clear you were eluding to him playing it in the Braves organization.

I did say that. When did he play the position when he was in the Braves' organization?

The point remains - both Peterson and Gosselin are better options as utility players because both can play SS respectably.

At what point does your searching for something to snag me on end? Have YOU ever seen Tommy La Stella look comfortable at 3B??? If so, you've been in Phoenix for the last month if he does, because you didn't see it when he was here.

"Clear" seems to be a moving target with you.

Lol... Calm yourself sweetie

Semantics. Neither Folty nor Banuelos has done anything to show that they're "ready". Furthermore, it would be BEYOND stupid to let Wandy walk when they haven't AND you can save time on their clocks.

I don't think there's any way the Braves let either Wandy or Stults opt out. They'll either make the 25 man roster or be traded. Wandy is a better pitcher, so he's probably the only one with a chance of bringing legit value in a trade.

Just spitballing here . . . the Red Sox have depth concerns at SP now that Joe Kelly is hurt and they have a glut of OF. Would they consider a deal built around Wandy for Daniel Nava? Here's Nava's career slash line vs RHP: 293 / 385 / 428.

That example is probably on the unrealistic side, but I think that's the type of deal the Braves would be looking for.

For the bench, I'd go:

(With Melvin in the lineup.)

Buck C
Young UTIL
KJ UTIL
Terdo 1B/OF
Goose IF

That's actually a really solid bench.

There's no way Buck makes the team over AJ... Would also rather have Perez than Young but that's a pipe dream even though he's clearly better

I like Young's versatility and speed. I really don't care as much about his bat with a player like that. We have KJ, Terds, and Goss bringing plenty of lumber themselves. I don't see Buck making it over Pierzinski, but I wish he would. **** AJ.

#Braves OF Markakis expected to make his spring debut Monday as a DH against Astros. Took 3rd straight day of BP today.

Callaspo makes a nice defensive play at 3B ranging to his left. Shelby Miller looks solid. Glad he started throwing the 2-seamer again. Roger probably wasn't gonna take no for an answer on that proposition.

There was an interview w/ Markakis at the outset. He'll DH in tomorrow's game and play RF in Tuesday's game.

I'm still really big on Jackie Bradley personally. I don't think Wandy would get him, but I'd probably trade Wandy for him if the Boston brass would do it. We could still let Folty and Banuelos start in Gwinnett and have the last two weeks of camp be an open competition between Wang, Stults, and Martin for the final two spots with an eye on other SPs with opt-outs in the event we wanted more depth. I wouldn't give Wandy up for a corner guy at this point - kinda feel like we're covered there for now, but Bradley could be a long-term piece.

I would seriously try to see if there is any market for Chris Johnson. Have Callaspo and Kelly Johnson split time at 3B.

Outman is pitching his way out of "lock" position in the bullpen, but he still may be the best LHRP we have.

I wonder if they'd consider Stults in a relief role.

In the off chance that we get Olivera, CJ would be even more expendable. Gonna need to eat $ to move him though.

Callaspo has hit the bell sharply in each of his past 3 AB with a couple singles to show for it. Easily the best I've seen him at the plate.
