Spring Training 2015

I generally agree with that chart except LF. Upton wasn't particularly great in terms of WAR, so a loss like that would be close to zero or negative. I don't think we will be that bad in LF this year.

Or it could mean Goose and Ciriaco, but I'm gonna try to think positive thoughts instead.

I'm thinking Ciriaco might get that last #Braves bench spot.

Sounds like the #Braves might fill that final bench spot with Pedro Ciriaco. But they're still evaluating potential trades

Can't help but feel bad for Cunningham, who saw the Braves haul a guy over from the minor league camp in the last week to provide some extra competition, and is now likely getting the boot for Pedro Ciriaco.

They're just not that into you, Todd.

Yep. Hope we trade him at this point. One of the things I dislike most (about baseball) is watching a person who is good enough to make some major league clubs rot in the minors instead.

Markakis has played some CF and could move over for a game or two, I'm sure.

Yea, this year is going to be more fun. Now on that note, let me piss down your back and tell you it's raining.

Seriously, our strong bullpen is mostly gone minus Kimbrel (and Jaime is actually going to be in it!), rotation is worse, our starting outfield defense is bad and will include a DH-type even after trading Gattis. And now they're considering carrying a bunch of second basemen and no true CFer. Yep this is going to be fun!

Hey nsacpi wherever you went I think it's time I join ya and I'll buy the drinks. I'm needing more than a few right now. :)

While this is a low stakes decision, the logic here is very hard to defend. I can understand carrying Gosselin as the emergency / backup CF to get a better player on the roster that can't play CF. But Pedro Ciriaco? He's the very definition of a AAAA player, not to mention that he'll need to bump someone of the 40-man. The team has been focused on a RH bat to balance the roster and they settle on a light-hitting player with reverse splits at the MLB level? This decision just seems, well . . . embarrassing.
