Kimbrel/Melvin Trade Thread

Watching Kimbrel was a rare joy, but it really didn't make sense to rebuild the team with an eye towards 2017 and keep him around. I don't doubt that he'll probably be even more effective in PETCO in the near term, but I agree with the comment upthread that there's a significant chance that we got the best of him. We need to stockpile talent, clear $$, and add position players. This move is a step forward on all fronts, much as it stings.

He was in with Freeman in buying shirts with everyone's name on them so they would know who all the new people were. There a note that there would be less jokesters on the team...maybe Freeman demanded to be the only jokester.

Maybe Minor gets traded to the Padres this summer for Hunter Renfroe and another prospect or two.

Minor's probably next on the trade docket once he re-establishes his value again.

Cahill too if he rebounds.
