4/14/15 GDT Jace still out of the lineup

I'm hoping that Peterson sitting has more to do with Callaspo/Johnson starting off hot than anything else. Kid needs to play.

Yeah, I think that's a safe bet. I don't fault Fredi for playing CJ and Bert since both are white hot and he's coaching for his job. Hopefully, Jace will come in as a late inning defensive replacement. Once one of these guys cools off, I think Jace will get a long look. We need to see what he can do in order to effectively plan for the future as it relates to Peraza, Albies, etc.

Does anyone else think it strange the same people bashed Fredi for using Jaimie are bashing Fredi for not using Jace ?
Jace is a nice player and all but I don't get this man crushin' posters have for 2Bmen that have trouble getting the ball out of the infield

I think everyone has been extremely consistent about this. We would have been equally horrified if Fredi brought Jace in to pitch in a tie game.

I feel like I'm being nicer to Fredi in this thread than he probably deserves, but I don't blame him for bringing Jaime in on Sunday to work a clean inning. The other RPs under consideration had worked two days in a row. Jaime was eventually going to have to pitch a high leverage inning. I'm happy it only needed to happen once.

The front office bears most of the blame on the Jaime experiment. It's not like it's a huge black mark on their reputations, but it was a mistake that could have been avoided with better planning.

I dont mind Jace sitting.

Callaspo and CJ are hitting the ball well to start.

I really didn't mind keeping Jaime. He throws about a million miles per hour and he has some huge minor league strikeout numbers. You might as well use your rebuilding season to figure out once and for all if he can harness his velocity and be an effective reliever.

People have to find a way to bash Fredi on a daily basis, not surprising.

3 ABs for Johnson, then slide Callaspo over and bring Peterson in to improve the defense at both spots.

Probably a good formula for keeping hothead from getting into tough situations late in the game and have him start to press too. Get his hacks early, keep driving the ball in the gaps, and he still feels like he was a big part of the offense.

Maybe it's me, but these guys seem to never work out. Henry Rodriguez, anyone?

He walked nearly 1 per inning at AAA last year, he should never pitch in anything but a blowout.

I'm in the camp that Jaime should have never made the team...he has never been able to throw strikes consistently and it's not like he's still learning how the pitch. Will be curious to see if anyone picks him up.

If I'm Hart I'm on the horn right now trying to trade Callaspo. Jace needs to be in there everyday to see if he can hit major league pitching. Callaspo is not part of our future. It pisses me off because I want to see the young guys play in a rebuilding year.

I wonder if we at least tryed to trade him, because I'm betting the Padres would have offered Renfroe for him if we threw them an offer.
