6/14/15 GDT: Braves (Foltynewicz) @ Mets (Gee)

Nice reply, once again you add nothing except for your usual berating of high school kids needing their permission slips which you've posted for the umpteenth time...I honestly don't know if I'm feeding a troll or not

He's been around long enough that we just don't have the heart to let him starve

How is Markakis a "disaster" in the outfield. Both UZR and DRS have him as average which is right in line with his career numbers

Disaster is too harsh. But he's not good despite certain people trying to claim he was in the offseason due to him not making errors.

Sorry guy who lurks on a message board for two years, but doesn't post...I can't see what you are typing anymore.

This game is starting to remind me of the July 4th the commies are attacking game from these two teams..where's Rick Camp when you need him lol

So you thought Peterson was going to be this good? And Markakis is a disaster in the outfield which is what most people talked about. You said it didnt matter and have since backtracked on that. Do you want people to call you on on that every time he turns a single into a double?

Markakis just looks bad in comparison to Heyward. He is serviceable out there but I would like an upgrade for sure.

I thought Peterson would be good down the road based on the reports I read on him and his performanc ein the minor leagues. i didn't think he would be this good this early though before ST. I loved what I saw out of him in Florida though.

I think guys who are super reliable and have good arms but have limited range are undervalued. You can help negate some of the lack of range with good positioning, like what the Cards have done with Peralta.

So you were initially wrong on both?

^^^see?

I meant that Niners getting mad about us calling him out on his bitching happens a lot

Gotcha!! I'm on ignore now and shattered but I'll refrain from throwing him on an ignore list...there's no telling what kind of asinine statement I might miss next...I wonder if the poor guy realizes that maybe a HANDFUL of people even see his posts

I never said that Nick was a good right fielder for starters.

And I thought that Jace would be good which is much closer than the talk of him being no better than TLS that many of you said in the offseason.

Depends who you ask. If you ask guys who don't beleive in stats and only 'watch' the games I would say those players can be over valued. They see good throws and players not making mistakes so they must be good. They don't take into effect range because that can be hard to 'see' when nothing really comparing it to. I'd bet if we hadn't been spoiled by Heywards range that most people who watch the Braves wouldn't notice Nick's lack of it.

In the end advanced stats usually get it right. That said Nick has showed more range this season then he has in quite some time.

You said he would be good enough. Or am I mistaken when you said you think he should move to LF next year as you were wrong how important defense was out there?

Regarding Jace and TLS I don't think that's fair as we really don't know what TLS can do out there. He's either been hurt or platooned and hasn't gotten a chance to play. That said Jace is certainly playing better than what I think he could do. I'm still not sold on him being this good though. But if he is that's good for us.
