Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

I just remember the recent histories of JJ and Hanson. We might be even seeing it with Teheran. Scouts think Olivera is a legit middle of the order impact bat. Isn't that what we need?

Hea a potential one but hes 30. Sp even if he is (question mark) hes on down slope of career curve. So 3-4 good years, tops? Hea injured and hasnt had 1 at bat in majors.

From Ken Gurnick . . .

"LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers' pending acquisition of starting pitcher Mat Latos and outfielder Michael Morse from Miami has turned into a three-team blockbuster.
If the trade is completed, the Dodgers will reportedly receive Latos and Morse as well as Atlanta starting pitcher Alex Wood, closer Jim Johnson, reliever Luis Avilan and infielder Jose Peraza, while sending to Atlanta recent Cuban signing Hector Olivera, injured reliever Paco Rodriguez and Minor League pitcher Zach Bird, according to Major League sources. Atlanta also will receive a competitive-balance Draft pick from Miami, which would get three Minor League pitchers from Los Angeles. The clubs have not confirmed the deal.
Trading Olivera is more than a little surprising, as the Dodgers spent $62.5 million to outbid nearly all of baseball for him earlier this season to sign the 30-year-old Cuban whose fast-track path to the Major Leagues has been slowed by a strained hamstring that is still healing."

Its possible that this is the case. Its also possible that Wood has another TJ surgery in the next 2 years and his caerer is over. I was all about trading Wood since the start of the season.

so we would trade Wood and peraza for Olivera (bad elbow, 30, no MLB experience) a pick (prob pick a college pitcher) and a pitcher who best case scenario turns into Alex Wood?

Exactly. All he is, is a potentially good bat, who is 30, and is someone the Dodgers have no room for, which has to be taken into account. Olivera has little value in a deal, or should have little value in a deal.

Peraza alone should get you Olivera. So then it would be Wood for Bird and a pick? Kill me.
