Farewell to Wood, Peraza, Jimmy Johns, and Avilans.

Remember guys. MLB's future is contact and speed. That means we just traded a future HOFer in Peraza. Surprised thethe isn't mad about him being traded

And Im not big on Peraza and leas so when factoring in the nimver of speedsters in system but hes rates as a top 50 and has value

How is Oliveiras defense?

but Heyward was one year.....this is 3 years of Alex Wood. We did not have to trade him. In the offseason you have more bidders.

I could see the logic in this. Braves obviously have some big time wood for Olivera. Thats the guy they clearly wanted.

It's the age that bothers me. It's very high risk. He could fall off a cliff.

He's 21, almost major league ready, plays a premium position, and can fly. Again, I wouldn't trade Wood alone for that package. Adding in Peraza is absurd.

There was no need to give up Peraza, use him in a seperate deal if they want to trade him.

Its really annoying that I keep getting singled out. So what, I typically will always like the moves that are made.

I would have loved to see Peraza up but this was the chance to get someone that could be an impact bat. That is what everyone has wanted and yet everyone is upset.

Pitching is so supposed to be devalued now and everyone seemingly expects to get a kings ransom for Wood when many in the industry worry about his mechanics.

I don't hate the deal. I'm somewhere between "dislike" and "disappointed."

Yeah, I actually really like the premise of Olivera as a cheap 3B option for the considerable future. Leaves a lot of room to spend. But, at a great cost in proven talent.

My worry is that Hector is more on the brittle side.

Three-team deal involving #Braves, #Marlins, #Dodgers also not fully completed. ATL telling some of players involved not done.

For panicky Braves fans: Most in the industry no longer see Peraza as Braves' best prospect. Should be solid, is young, but far from elite.

No ... WE'RE NOT PANICKING HERE AT ALL, JEFF.

Where is the part where Olivera is anywhere close to similar value for Wood?
